Fun fact: This dipshit has now been in charge of three failed video game platform launches in a row. PS3, Xbone, and now Stadia. He's basically the kiss of death at this point.
California tech company being morons, there was absolutely no reason for Stadia to exist, they only wanted to annoy other platforms but because is google they cant even do that right and killed it very frequently, you can count of them making original things oncei n a while but when they try to copy something it inmediately goes to the trash like Google +How did the stadia even get greenlit? You'd think the geniuses at google would realize no-one wants to play a game with a 5 second delay between every button press.
At launch, it was a shitshow, and got curbstomped by the 360 in pretty much every way. It was only after he left and Sony got their shit together that the PS3 started to gain steam and eventually overtook the 360. Which is what I was saying. The same thing pretty much happened with the Xbox One, which he was involved with initially. Hell, I can't recall a single thing he was involved with that wasn't a huge mess, at least at first. The PS3 outsold the Xbox 360 by two million units worldwide in its first year on the market, outsold the Xbox 360 every single year on the market for the rest of its life, and went on to be one of the top selling home consoles in history.

I remember the PS3 failing because a lack of games due to the chip they designed for it being way too complicated for modern day game devs (will be happy to learn if it's because it really was too complicated, or because game development is such a shitshow, not a lot of talented devs stay in the business). At launch, it was a shitshow, and got curbstomped by the 360 in pretty much every way. I have no idea where you're seeing the PS3 outselling the 360 at first because every single source I can find says the opposite. https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/NPD_Seventh_generationDumbshit.
The PS3 outsold the Xbox 360 by a couple million units in its very first year.
How many fucking times do you need to hear that?
Even more pathetic for Microsoft was that Sony easily beat them while the PS3 was 200 more expensive and the RRoD fiasco was leading Xbox 360 owners to buy massive numbers of duplicate consoles which massively inflated Microsoft's sales numbers.
It was mainly because of both the lack of games and high price. But like I said, both were eventually solved. And yes, the Xbone - which again, Phil was involved with - was probably even worse than the PS3 as far as reveals go. Hell, it still hasn't fully recovered from it to this day.I remember the PS3 failing because a lack of games due to the chip they designed for it being way too complicated for modern day game devs (will be happy to learn if it's because it really was too complicated, or because game development is such a shitshow, not a lot of talented devs stay in the business).
Meanwhile the XBone might had the worse PR for a console ever. It also had the idea that absolutely everyone can play online all the time.
Add another one to the Google graveyard. Bets on when they fully shutter this trashheap?

Don't call it a grave, this is the digital only future you chose. The original Stadia PR tweet got deleted but heres ReLogics tweet storm. Pretty damning that a top 20 developer on the Play store says this about your company.

Oh yeah, I will concede that WW the PS3 did launch better than the 360, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that outside of America and a few other locations there just aren't as many places that care about Xbox - especially Japan. The PS3 sold 10.5 million console WORLDWIDE in its first year.
The Xbox 360 only sold around 8 million WORLDWIDE in its first year.
These number are right in both companies yearly financial reports.
So they just shut this guy out out of nowhere for seemingly no reason? Stadia may be on its deathbed but at least it's still providing quality entertainment, just not in the way Google was probably hoping. The original Stadia PR tweet got deleted but heres ReLogics tweet storm. Sold and shipped are two different things. They couldn't even sell PS3s at launch, just look up photos of the launch events. The Stadia name and project proper are definitely dead, but the tech is going to live on.
There is nothing wrong with the core technology for streaming games. It just isn't a drop in replacement for playing games locally with zero input lag and not having to worry about competing for your local connection speed.
It is very similar to Google Wave. The public product was killed off, but Google Wave tech went on to be used in many other Google products.

Phil Harrison tried to auction off an exclusive PS3 for charity at the Marillion Weekend in 2007 and "The band’s keyboard player duly started the bidding at around 100 euros, getting a couple of incremental increases from interested – but slightly bemused – fans." And from then on, as you might have guessed, this wanders into an alleged, slightly bizarre Sony hype fiasco - though it certainly was for charity,"At launch, it was a shitshow, and got curbstomped by the 360 in pretty much every way. They couldn't sell either at launch and it made me happy because scalpers got fucked to death. They had two models at launch, the ones they couldn't sell were usually the 600 dollar ones.
The 600 dollar fatties tend to be in better condition than the 500 dollar ones on the secondary market even after all these years. Mostly because they have a higher chance of just being dead stock and never touched. The 500 dollar ones sold more, but both did abysmal until the slim came out. They couldn't sell either at launch and it made me happy because scalpers got fucked to death.
Might be, but neither of them sold at the time. Scalpers picked up more than they could afford at release and I could still buy one at retail. I had to hustle to get a Wii at release without a pre-order and I only got a 360(without a pre-order, I like the chase) in early January(released late November). PS3 at release and after: no problem, even the 20GB version. Stores even got more stock when scalpers returned them! This actually really fucking sucks. The Terraria team has been putting out good content for years, for free even. I hope he didn't lose any really important shit from being locked out. I mean he most likely did if he had it for over 15 years, but still..The original Stadia PR tweet got deleted but heres ReLogics tweet storm.
