This actually really fucking sucks. The Terraria team has been putting out good content for years, for free even. I hope he didn't lose any really important shit from being locked out. I mean he most likely did if he had it for over 15 years, but still..

Man what a shit show, how do you arrange for the guy to port over his game to your system and then completely ghost him when he needs help?

that's why you don't put all your eggs in one basket and go with services that offer some accountability (or outright do your own like mail hosting). it won't be free, but shit like that won't happen either.

10.5 million PS3s sold shipped and sitting in stores worldwide in its first year just magically disappear.
Fixed for accuracy. Both Sony and Microsoft have tinkered with the difference between "shipped" and "sold" at different times. MS with the Xbone in the beginning, Sony with the PS3 in the beginning.

It took time for the PS3 to get traction and using pre-renders to sell the system and claiming it was in-game didn't make them look good when the actual games arrived. The PS3 became very successful but the start was rocky and they made mistakes. That's not fanboyism, it's the truth and the only thing I'm angry about is the scalpers because of past, current and future scalping situations. Scalpers are scum and seeing them get fucked by the PS3 was glorious.

Currently there's more PS5's on Ebay than there are in US stores, we may see scalpers get fucked again if it's true they're planning for a simultaneous rollout of another few million PS5's.

I think the wii-u was the last time scalpers got actually royally fucked. There was no set purchase limits so you had people buyout entire stores.

Please, give the dumb fanboy crap a rest.

https://spong.com/article/19131/SCEE-Clarifies-PS3-Install-Base-Maths

"We count installed base differently to (SCEE). We count the number of units in the hands of consumers."

We said we'd asked SCEE exactly how it did calculate its sales - and which territories it covered. A spokesman for the company has now responded as follows:

"We calculate our install base by 'sell through' and have done for the last four years I believe", we asked for a little additional clarification...

Both Sony and Nintendo report actual sales. Microsoft is the only one who plays the game of pretending that shipped to retailer units are actual sales. Not surprising for a console maker that is 0/3 or 0/4 for the past twenty years.

It took time for the PS3 to get traction and using pre-renders to sell the system and claiming it was in-game didn't make them look good when the actual games arrived.

LOL, fanboys still butthurt about Killzone 2 actually looking good as the 'hyped Sony impossible to look that good in realtime' as claimed by the 'graphics experts' on Beyond3D.

PS3 realtime graphics looking just as good as the trailer:

If you are still spouting this crap over ten years later, you will for the rest of your life.

The same goes for Stadia fanboys.

Fanboys believe what they want to believe. They never spend the few minutes to verify that they aren't spouting crap that they want to believe like you are.

It's been that was since the Atari 2600. It will be that way in consoles in the future.

The fact remains that the ps3 was a massive money sink that costed far more to make then they sold it for and it was to hard to work with in the first few years. Sure the 360 had the RROD, but sony making a clunker that needed to push the blue-ray player into houses costed them a lot. And people still buy DVDs so the blue ray upgrade did not nearly do as well as they planned, and now everything is moving away from fysical media.

The whole thing with Stadia makes me think of that Collegehumor skit 'If Google Was A Guy' where they're asking Google about things Google was building, and his response is 'Killed it', 'killed it', etc.

Rather funny, to be honest.

Makes me wonder if any of those people actually play videogames, or just support Stadia because it has Google's name on it.
They're paid shills. I'm confident in this assertion for two reasons: it's reddit (which is rife with astroturfing and shilling), and absolutely no one outside Stadia's marketing team believes it's any good. If an absurdly stupid product or idea is enjoying lots of "grassroots" support on reddit, there's money involved. Truth isn't.

This is sad. ReLogic is a team that cares a lot about its game and the game's community and they're being treated like trash with no reason given for upwards of ten days now. This doesn't seem to be some TeamYoutube like situation either because those biased mouthbreathers at least respond to you if you have a problem related to money, like being unable to process payments for Youtube Premium. Re-logic is pulling a whole game from Stadia and still nothing from Google. T

I'm sure when Google gets back to him it'll be another canned response about how his ban was automated and they're still forced to rely on automated systems because of Covid-19, but on further review they've decided to uphold his ban.

General run down is that the person cant play the game they paid $60 for on Stadia because it locks up. They try contacting the publisher on twitter and get this response.

The original Stadia PR tweet got deleted but heres ReLogics tweet storm. Pretty damning that a top 20 developer on the Play store says this about your company.

You'd think dev accounts have a special customer service team specifically to handle them, since, you know, chances are that they're actually big companies that pay you more money than the average joe schmuck?

Well, I guess that sets the record straight. Because as a guy who bought a Stadia, I thought Google was no supporting it because the devs were fired. And here, we are told that Google is not supporting it because they were reassigned. That obviously makes a gigantic fucking difference.

Note: I did not actually buy a Stadia, because I thought it was a stupid idea to buy a Google product that would require support.

Anyone but Google fanboys could see this coming from 500 miles away, yet Stadiafags will be surprised. When you have 0 ownership of media you're buying a company can and will screw you when their licenses run out.

It would be very interesting to see just how developed bot responses are getting, especially a company that has as much technology and data behind it.

It's certainly something that was going on on the chans, as well as human astroturfing of course - it's hardly a challenge to make a bot say "based" out "cringe" depending on select words and modifiers before/after to fit in, but I'm sure the technology has gone far since then.

With the regular low-effort posts you see on many websites, a bot takeover of Internet forums is a very real and worrying thing, in my opinion.

eliza already fooled people decades ago, they are probably much more sophisticated these days. twitter is like 80% bots or something.

I could swear I recently saw a discussion about that, think it was in internet & tech...
