99 percent of you have no clue what Grand Chase is, and I'm not surprised. It was a 2.5d fighting rpg from the early to late 2000's that I spent thousands upon thousand of hours on. It got a better known (but shitier by comparison) spinoff sequel called "Elsword".

Well bitches...
Grand Chase is back. I'm not a fan of freemiums, but this game was my life from 13 to early adulthood, it holds a really special place in my heart. So I'm sharing it with you faggots.

I'm on the fence about this, what made the original enjoyable for me was the platforming gameplay.

I think everyone pretends the earlier mobile game attempt didn't exist. It was a cheap generic gacha game with the assets grabbed from the PC game.

That one keeps coming back to mind playing the new one. I never played it, but I do remember it. I get your indecision, I fucking miss the old game. I was a Viken and Sword Master main, kicking those AP motherfuckers into the dirt with the two hardest to use classes was so fun.

For those not in the know, OG Grand Chase had 2 types of characters. MP and AP. MP characters had to charge their specials and only had 3 specials, AP characters had 5 specials that were instant use. Most of the community hated AP's because they were utterly broken compared to the MP's. It usually didn't matter how big your skill gap was, AP's we're just jank as fuck. Seighart used to be the character of contention, but then Dio, Ley and Rufus (the AP's) came along and pissed most of us off. Kicking the shit out of AP's with classes that were actually bottom tier like Viken and Sword Master was always satisfying.

Holy shit this game. Didn't ntreev used to run it as well as Trickster? I played the shit out of Trickster when I was 10/11.

You are correct, Ntreev used to host GC back in the early days. If I recall correctly, KoG took over right around the release of either Jin or Seighart. Trickster was the shit too. I think I only ever hit like lvl 60 as a Racoon (money throw was jank as hell), but I spent a couple hundred hours in Trickster too. Honestly Ntreev had a pretty damn good line-up of games right before KoG took over, Trickster, Grand Chase and Combat Arms were so damn fun. Then KoG killed off 2/3 and eventually drove GC into the dirt.

That shit made the childhood of almost any kid growing up on the 2000s here in Hueland.

The Brazilian scene for GC was especially huge. You assholes won every fuckin pvp tourny because there were so many of you and most of you guys were skilled as fuck. Usually in vidjya, it's the Asians that we're fuckin scary, but when it came to GC, it was Brazilians that I always dreaded to fight. Y'all were beasts.

I threw like $500 at GC specifically because of character and class missions. Way too many were beyond unreasonable.

The grind after Sieghart launch became pretty tame tho.

Before him it was rage inducing.

@Nick Gars IIRC Yup, the championships sometimes were a curbstomp.

*sigh* Shame it ended on a low note. Also the main dev called the higher ups stupid for shutting down the game.
