I do like any molded fitting plastic case that is slim but fits the guitar like a glove. For someone who travels, a slim guitar case that take less space is much nicer than a dubious gig bag or a bulky case.Hate that shit. Looks so bad for the company, too. Anyway: Big Gibson news - The 'Chainsaw Case V 6.0' is out. $50 upcharge on orders. Apparently well-made and form-fitting.. Made in Chine (ofc)

Trogly will get to make a reveal video, unboxing video, review video, and a "re-box and ship out" video for this. Idk if i'd pay more for this over the std brown hardcases. If i wanted something lighter i'd just get a nice gig bag, like the one the current SG std comes with.Hate that shit. Looks so bad for the company, too. Unfortunately this is more in the v3 chainsaw style which is on the chunky flight case side. 1 and 2 were heavy duty but closer to a normal gibson case.I do like any molded fitting plastic case that is slim but fits the guitar like a glove. When I was playing metal the first thing I'd do with a new guitar was pull out all the wiring and just put in a single kill switch and pup selector, this was after a string of guitars with faulty wiring drove me insane and I said "fuck it! no mo!"On the bright side, the wiring compartment is no longer a snakes nest of wires.
Get a decent Epi SG and slap a set of Bareknuckle "Riff Raff" p/ups in it, I reckon. A Plexi or plexi-like amp is a must, though; a lot of his sound is that power amp tube overdrive.Continuing my Quandary:
All things Gibson are fucking out of control, as we all determined.
Looking at an SG - not hung up on exact color, or exact shape (2x horn is required). I want the Angus sound. Right down to the potential magnets in the pups (Gibson was REALLY bad with mixing AlNiCo 5 and 2 in their pups, even into the 80s. Shit QC.). I believe his first walnut SG had ceramics (some AC/DC autist on a board) but his studios and later shows def had AlNiCos.
The Epi pickups have universally been shat upon, but the wood and construction is near 100%
So... What would you all recommend? Epiphone SG with a pup swap to Gibsons?
ESp Viper? Are the pups good?
Schecter S1? (I personally hate the look of Double Cuts)
Yamaha RevStar?
a shit Chinese clone?
or sell the house and get a Gibson Angus Young Signature SG (with the Angus Signature pups) ?
cheap klon first in line, tone noon, gain 0, volume pulled back from noon (will vary according to amp/pups) and you have a great PAF tone, at least thats been my experience. The same set up works great at turning a PAF into a tele bridge sound. The Epi pickups have universally been shat upon,
Learn how to hold the basic chords and some basic strum patterns pick one or two songs you would like to learn and after that work on training your ears and learning some basic music theory should be set after thatSo, I grew up in a punk rock scene and always wanted to learn an instrument. I'm not gonna lie, I've been depressed as all hell and decided to say it's time to get a hobby.
Any advice for a newborn guitar player?
I love Yamahas so I recommend trying a Revstar from 500 series and up. Pickups you might want to upgrade though.Continuing my Quandary:
