Okay my laptop and PC have both suddenly decided that the internet is too good for them - nothing but browsers can connect to the internet, and thats not 100% (for example, this site = up, tomshardware = not up, Battle.net = not up, isup.me = not up).

What the fuck is going on? I can attempt to give more info but I dont even know what the fuck would have caused this. It surely can't be viruses or whatever because its affecting both PCs

Restart your router like HAL just recommended. Unplug it and plug it back in a few times then wait a little while.

If your browsers can connect that means the problem isn't with your computer, it's something either on your Internet Service Provider's end or a hardware problem with your router setup. Especially if the problem is occurring with two computers.

If restarting your router a few times hasn't worked try calling your ISP and asking them to do something on their end.

Restarted the computers, refreshed the IPs of both of them, turned the router off, reset it, unplugged it, pushed in the little "reset" hole in the back, none of it's worked *sigh* alright Imma ring up BT

Is there anything you did today with your two computers that might have caused it? Like uninstalled a driver or something?

well, PC 1 is a Win 7 build, we accidentally fucked it up last week and had to wipe the hardrive and start again, its been slowly doing windows updates (did one last night). PC 2 I've not done anything notable to.

Well actually something weird did happen after my attempts to fix it, but I dont know how related it is - AFTER I started to try and fix it, PC 2 (with an expired NOD license, dw PC1 has an active copy of NOD), it's expired virus protection software reactivated and updated.

It could be your drivers. Try to reinstall the drivers for your network card or maybe you have incorrect ones.

I wiped my harddrive two weeks ago and I noticed that my internet, while it worked was criminally slow and would die after a few minutes. I figured out it was because the drivers for my network card were incompatible with my motherboard. So I found the proper ones for my motherboard and it finally worked.

Same thing kind of has been happening to me, but not as bad. It's an intermittent connection and just cuts out for like 20 seconds then comes back. It's only an issue when I'm downloading a large pron file and then lose my download slot and have to wait like an hour to try again.
