Gunnar Gaming Glasses -

So last week I decided to splurge a little bit and get myself a new set of glasses (I figured it's been 2 years since my last pair, and I've been having increasingly frequent migraines lately). I got a prescription pair of Gunnar gaming/computer glasses, sweet mother of God I LOVE these glasses!!! Aside from the fact that they're the ones that have the yellow tint (which you can get them in clear lenses), and I do a lot of photo editing on my computer, I was a little skeptical of the tinted lenses, but there's really no difference so far. All of my photos just look a hair bit 'warmer', which doesn't affect how I edit. The biggest difference I've seen so far was with the Retina screen on the iPhone, those glasses make the text 100% crystal clear. I had a pair of non-prescription Gunnars that I used when I was racing, but the prescription lenses have absolutely nothing on the store bought glasses. Anyone else have a pair of them and what do you think of them?

I thought about it. I've been wearing the same pair of glasses for 7 years now. Bunch of scratches and smudges I can't get off. I've had constant dizziness for the last year now possibly caused by eye strain so I thought maybe Gunnar's would help, but I moved away from my insurance provider's territory and lost my insurance before I could get them. Has it helped your migraines?

Actually, it has. I don't squint as much as I did with my old glasses, even when wearing them out in the sunlight, which would be a major factor. I haven't had the constant dull headache I normally have either. I mean, I had a migraine today, but I'm guessing that's more PMS related than eye-strain related. Luckily my insurance covered at least the frames, which were $110, leaving me with the lenses, which came to $140, but at the same time they use Zeiss lenses, so the price sounds about right for what they are. So they are pretty pricy, but if you're working at a computer screen all day, they're worth it. My husband was the one who talked me into them since he's had a pair for about 2 years now and loves them. He said that if he doesn't wear them, he'll get a headache.

My prescription Oakleys were around $650, so $140 isn't bad in my book. Those were sunglasses mind you.

Wow, that's about as expensive as on of my camera lenses!!! But at the same time, as long as they're worth it to you, that's all that matters. I hadn't even looked at the sunglasses when I was getting my frames because with the way I have to get my sunglasses under my helmet, I usually end up bending the frames a little, or breaking plastic one. That was another thing that had actually drawn me to the Gunnars, I've been wearing the non-Rx pair all season and I don't know how I haven't managed to bend them up yet, but I figured if I could put them through the abuse I put them through while racing, they'd be perfect for when a 2 year old yanks them off of my face too.

What happens when you take a fat alcoholic with a dying show and watch him play video games where he sucks, doesn't say anything funny nor insightful, and can't be bothered to learn how to properly play?
