That's the A#1 reason why I don't like ARs; not being able to apply a boot or mallet to the charging handle when it stopped extracting at the exact worst moment, while not having enough room/cover to really slam it straight down.Even if the gun is gunked to hell and all you can do is FA in one round and then have to smack the rifle on the ground to get it out there are situations where being able to shoot that one round can sane your life.
