Not all gypsies or the Romany/Roma/Romanichal population in general, but the stupid-as-fuck gypsies and Irish Travellers we see on the show My Big Fat (British or American) Gypsy Wedding, as well as the show Gypsy Sisters.

These people on the show are white trash, no ifs ands or buts about it. Theyrefuse to let their girls go to college or even high school, and will not even give their girls the 'talk' (the husband is expected to teach his bride on their wedding night) the gypsy girls dress like sluts but talk about being 'clean and pure'.

Women are second-class citizens in this white-trash gypsy culture and are not allowed to go out without chaperones, but it is perfectly ok for guys to sleep around and do other cool stuff. God forbid that a gypsy girl not be a virgin on her wedding night because then no gypsy boy would want to marry her but it's not true vice versa. Gypsy guys also have really ugly hair, they often do their hair up like the douchebags on Jersey Shore.

Last but most certainly not fucking least, the huge, ugly-ass wedding dresses. Instead of getting dressed in the church given the size of the dress (as common sense would dictate) they dress at home and make a big production of walking out the door and cramming that huge-ass dress into the limo or carriage or what the fuck ever.

I fucking hate human trash of any skin color/race, but Gypsy trash really pisses me off. Not even in ghetto or redneck culture do I see women treated so lowly.

They apply for homeschooling, but then do the minimal amount of homeschooling. It's especially prevalent in the British version of the show since the gypsies travel around so much, and as a result many of them have shit reading skills.

Yeah, I agree, they look like guidos, but the pictures I posted all come from the show itself.

Well, they move do much from state to state that it is hard to enforce such policies. I don't know if you are from the U.S, but child protection services vary from state to state. My sister got out of being charged for her crappy parenting by moving from Florida to Alabama

I live in rural Alabama so I don't have the stigma of trailers that people in more affluent and urban areas have. Most tailors now a days are actually very nice, especially double wides. I considered living in one for a time.

^That's why in my first post I said I was talking about the gypsies on these shows, not the Roma population as a whole.

And yes, they live in America as well. Many Roma were forced out of Europe and emigrated here.

They're all over Europe. Pretty sure they're in every country, or damn near close. And yes we do have them in the States. They're just an extreme minority as far as I know.

Also this show just seems to enforce and encourage the negative stereotypes and really does nothing to help change the gypsies image. Where are SJWs when you need them (oh wait, they won't do anything to help this except complain about evil whitey)?

How dare you! Those double standards and deplorable customs are an important part of their ethnic background! Just like a white devil shitlord to suggest that they might benefit by doing away with harmful traditions!

Actually I saw a few episodes of American Gypsies, and all that show really seemed to convey was that Roma are all violent scam-artists and thieves. I can't imagine what stereotype they were trying to break with that show, because it just seemed to reinforce all of the old ones.

Yeah there's lotsa shitty gypsies out there, but honestly? Making a gypsies topic makes about as much sense as making a thread named "Jews" or "Africans". It's kind of tricky territory.

Seeing as though my mother's best friend since childhood is Roma, I can't feel but be slightly offended by this topic. Now if it was about, say, trailer park inhabitants in general, then you'd have a bit more wiggle room here. As it stands, I think this is just a bit too much. There's a difference between chavs, trailer trash, travellers and actual Roma and Sinti people.

And though they all have their rotten apples, I think to declare an entire ethnic group "lolcows"may be a new low.

If you want to make a thread about goofs from a TV show who happen to be mostly race X, then make the post about the people on the show, not one titled "Gypsies" full of thinly veiled jabs.
