Remember to be careful about hair dye as doing it too much can damage your hair and make it all frizzy and shit.

Also share your own tips, talk about shampoo, showering, brushes, combs, anything to do with hair or haircare.

Does anyone have any recommendations regarding hair lightening? I know you're not supposed to go more than 2 shades below your current colour without having it done professionally, but how many trips does it take to get it down about 5 shades without wrecking it?

I'm in the category of "who women hate". I have super blond hair, that's fine but also thick, oh and my scalp isn't at all greasy so I only need to wash my hair every 3-4 days.

I hate it...

Ive dyed it blue, bright red, and pink. I've shaved it off (forgive me, I was young), had dreads, and brought a picture of Jenna Jameson for my exteme bob inspiration. Hair gods forgive me.

Edit: I will say that anyone with light blond hair (natural or not) lush's daddy-o is great for a slight purple tint shampoo.

I have really curly and thick hair that is as long as it's ever been but it's so fucking annoying because I brush it thoroughly every day then when I wash it and try to brush it again it has even more tangles than when I brushed it the day before
Same fam. What I normally do is during a shower after shampooing I apply conditioner then I brush it with the conditioner in, afterwards I continue with my normal cleaning to let the product stay in for as much time as possible, then to rinse out the conditioner I also brush it once again at the same time. Hair is really controllable after wards, but before I let it dry I do whatever hair style (braids/buns/ etc.)
Another thing I do is I do 2 braids before I go to sleep so I don't wake up with Cthulhu on my face, that way in the morning It's easier to not only brush but my hair gets some cute natural waves out of it.

I hope this helps fellow long thicc frizzy hair fellow, I deeply feel your struggle. Another thing is never take hair advice from people who don't have the same hair struggles as you do(unless they're professional hair dressers).
Because my hair is so long and frizzy I feel so bad when I need to get a cut, like it's so much work since there's hairs all over the place.

I really like lush shampoo/conditioner bars. They smell great and last a long time, but if your hair is very thick or long they are a pain in the ass to lather.

I have thick, curly hair. If we wanna get really specific, it would be the 3B type curl. When cutting it, I make sure to get it layered so it doesn't come out awful. I say to go to someone who knows what they're doing with curly hair, because you shouldn't just go to anyone. I use shampoos and conditioners that are sulfate-free. Sulfates can dry out your hair. I was told by my stylist that Argan oil is the best for my type of hair, because of how dry and frizzy it can easily become.

Although I'm growing out my hair, I'm thinking by the time winter's over, I'm going to cut it above shoulder length so I can give my bangs a chance to catch up. Plus, it'll get rid of all the faded hair from when I tried horribly to dye it a cyan color. It looks like a nice, in style ombre color now, from dark brown to a more golden blonde, but now I want the all natural look again.

I've been using castor oil on my eyelashes for over a month now. It's made my lashes stronger and longer, looks thicker because they're not falling out daily. I lose maybe 3-4 lashes a week. You don't even need the beauty grade castor oil, that's a rip off. Just buy empty mascara tubes from amazon and fill with walmart castor oil, If it's cold-pressed you're good to go.

i saw a video where a girl who had dyed her hair used relaxer on it and all her hair fell out

how does that work

The chemicals break down the structure of the hair strand in both processes. You break it down enough and bam - hair falls out.

I went from my natural dark brown black to near platinum in one go once - at a salon. It was a salon that was in a Chinatown and they did a good job - pricey but my hair was still damaged, though a keratin straightening treatment (like I think it was a Shiseido "rebonding" one) made it better. If possible a serious treatment after is the way to go though it can be ridiculously expensive. It will probably always have that chemically treated feel, but it won't look that fried.

I use a variety of hair care things depending on season and hair treatment/condition, but Mane and Tail is awesome. So is Etude House's Silk scarf and Shiseido's Tsubaki.

I'm a guy with long curly hair, I just brush it while I'm washing with some kind of shampoo, then I use a hair pick to get it neat after the shower, and boom I look like some kind questionably employed mullet man. I'm not sure if that exactly falls in the realm of hair 'care' though.
I really wish it didn't take so long to deal with long hair, it's always pleasant to shower, but I kind of hate setting aside the time.

I think I'm done with at-home hair dyes tbh. The purple turned pink and the blue turned an admittedly relatively badass silver color.

Now it's just bleached. I'm a blonde boi.

I’m a supporter of Herbal Essences Smooth Collection and Pantene’s Dream Care Smooth and Sleek for shampoos. The conditioner I use is from a local farmer’s market and contains goat m.ilk and vinegar. Sounds weird but it has a noticeable difference when I comb my hair post wash (my hair is layered so I get double the tangles).

Anyways, what’s a good shampoo if I wanted more volume? And is putting Vaseline on eyelashes to make them grow longer a myth?

I have really fine, wavy hair.

It's a bitch to take care of.

(I use TRESemmé Shampoo and TIGI Bed Head Conditioner. I wonder if it's impacting my hair?)
