Half Life Deathmatch / AG - Online - 32 Player DM Severs, teams or 1v1 on the AG mod

  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Waiting on a response from upstream.

Anyone ever play the original Half Life Multiplayer Deathmatch?

I think it's one of the best FPS online shooters from the late 90's, mid 00's - it was amazing how people managed to use the gauss gun to speed around the map, taking people out while constantly healing. Stalkyard was a map I remember some of the best games were played on. I had stopped playing mostly but I saw a mod called AG became popular before I stopped all together..

*This has nothing to do with CS, TFC, DoD, etc in case you're confused. *

I used to, in the day, but haven't in a long time. Its basically a arena shooter quake variant, which is helped by the fact that the goldsrc engine HL runs in is an upgraded version of Quake's id Tech 1. Nothing too original or special, but it had its fun quirks and decent map selections, and as a platform for modding, well, Counter Strike, Team Fortress Classic, Day of Defeat, Ricochet, and a fucking slew of other really great mods came from it. It was a great foundation to build upon.

I haven't played in forever, but I'd be down for shaking off the dust and having a retro night with some kiwis sometime though.

Same.. Doesn't have to be only Half-Life DM.. Could just be a bunch of old school games we don't see much anymore.

i still see like south americans and balkanites on their playing on server occasionally. not a fan but hey its interesting enough. i still prefer cs 1.6.
I see a few HLDM servers active in Oceania but they are full of bots. I see one or two real people in Asian servers.. Quite a few in US servers but the ping makes it pointless for me... I can handle 140-160.. 300 is a bit far lol

I never saw a reason to play it over Quake or UT. Mods were always where Half-Life shined.
Super fucking fun!

I also unironically love Ricochet. Anyone play that?
Ricochet was the shit, I could listen to those death sounds all day. I was going to post them, but I tragically can't find the wavs anymore

For a sec i thought this was about the weird "Deathmatch-Classic" mod for HL1 which was more or less a Quake clone.

This. I'd love to see some people boot up Jedi Academy sometime.
