Considering they're dropping the whole red vs blue thing so you can show off your colors, they still have yet to explain the armor coating process in-depth. I feel like it's something that won't be directly mentioned, similar to that smart scope thing on the AR.

I don't think there's much more to explain, really. It's basically the shader system from Destiny - preset color schemes and patterns that are unlocked through gameplay or the store/battle pass.

Also despite all the shit I give 343, it's nice to see people still care about this franchise:

I'm personally looking forward to Infinite absolutely robbing Destiny's player base, just so Bungie can squirm like the pigfuckers they are.
D2's PVP has been neglected so hard it feels like Bungie is on the verge of abandoning it entirely. It's currently more of a clusterfuck than any 343 Halo game has ever been.

This is why I always laugh whenever I see people say they want modern Bungie to get Halo back. In their hands it would most likely be just as bad if not worse.

Setting aside inter-company slapfights, this is the problem with any game that tries to have both PVE and PVP with the same sandbox. There are so many variables in Destiny's PVP that it's essentially impossible to ensure a fair match between two players with two different builds, to say nothing of two teams with up to twelve different builds. Inevitably, this leads to balance updates that try to bring PVP outliers in line, but all this usually ends up doing is ruining the PVE side of the game, often to the ire of players that didn't want anything to do with PVP.

If they just leaned into the craziness and said "look, you're probably not gonna have a fair fight here but you'll do some wild shit," that'd be one thing, but they keep trying to portray Destiny as a serious PVP game, which it's never really been designed for. The game was only "competitive" when people were still trying to figure out what the hell they were doing, but once the hand cannon/sniper meta crystalized, it's just been samey bullshit ever since, with the no-lifers bitching about anything that breaks the meta.

Personally, as someone who plays both series, I can see Infinite's multiplayer taking Destiny PVP players away, but again, PVP mains are only a small (but vocal) minority of the playerbase. As I type this, only 12% of players are currently in a PVP activity, with an additional 5% in Gambit (hybrid PVE/PVP), and those are pretty typical numbers. Most players engage with the PVE side of things and only do a minimal amount of PVP, and I'm not entirely sure how many of those would break off to play Infinite's campaign solely. It would be nice to see Bungie get some competition again; I love Destiny's world and the gameplay is pretty fun overall, but there's a lot of complacency there that makes for continued frustration as a longtime fan, and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. Hell, there were two top threads on the Destiny subreddit yesterday that praised Infinite's battle pass system and asking why the hell Destiny's wasn't like that.

MCC's battlepass being perfected was an accidental mistake, just like HW2 being as good as it was.

Yeah, my first thought when watching that trailer was "did they pay three random people off the street to do the voice acting and then pay a fourth to attempt to voice change one to sound like an Elite?" It's awful.

My last wish is to have trailers for these seasonal updates. We spend an entire months span talking about what goes into it, we don't need theatrics.

I just realized that there wasn't a single SMG in any of the gameplay so far, maybe it's role basically got replaced by the new shotgun? It kinda seems like it given the range of the new shotgun. Kinda makes sense since the SMG always seemed kinda pointless in games where the AR also exists and there's no dual wielding.

If i remember correctly, the new shotgun is indeed supposed to take both of those roles.

The season 7 trailer sucked ass, but I like the new menu background. I know it's possible to freely change the background movies on PC by renaming files, but adding an in-game menu to swap them would be nice. The ODST background was a personal favorite.

I thought this was the new SMG:

I'm hoping they'll add a background picker when they finish with the updates.

I personally want the Reach grenade launcher back. That shit was so fun and great for the sandbox.

I honestly don't think so, most Destiny players only play PvP to complete bounties and then go right back to PvE. The super-dedicated Destiny PvP-focused players crutch so hard on the game's absurd aim assist, infinite shotgun/sniper ammo, Hand Cannon peekshooting, and imbalanced abilities (glacier into shatterdive, geomags stalling, the entirety of top tree dawnblade) that they'd get shitstomped in Halo. Hardcore Destiny PvP players are MASSIVE egotists who are going to ragequit after playing 3 matches, and being unable to get a free 7.0 K/D because Halo doesn't have a million crutches, or a PvP playerbase majorly comprised of people that don't want to be playing PvP.
