It still makes good reading if you like watching a total idiot ensnare herself in traps then bemoan her pitiful plight. I mean I'm sure even in the 1700s if your job sucked if you were a ladies maid you can find a better situation elsewhere. I mean shit If i written the story it'd end in chapter 1 because I guess common sense. De Sade is an excellent shitposter and I enjoyed his work as an edgy teen in a conservative area. That being said, I understand not caring. For messages that can be summed up with a sentence the work relies on the audience caring about the delivery, and if you don't care about the delivery then no dice.

We have other shit to jump off of like Clive Barker though, and I recommend reading Cabal some time.
