There's a thread right now in Supporters where mods can clarify why a certain user was banned. I think it would be useful to have a similar public thread. It'll cut down on the amount of chat sperging as people flail around to figure out why someone was banned and it'll serve as a kind of gibbet where you can air out corpses and highlight unacceptable behaviour.

If nobody notices it's not gonna be a drama bomb, it's gonna be a way of showing people "this is what you get banned for here, don't do this". I just found out today we had 'forum rules' and I hurt my tumtum laughing at them because I break all of them every single day and nobody cares.

It's still a place to highlight the way in which a given user was a sped, and have it serve as a public warning to other users.

@Vitriol suggested that the thread remain perma-locked except for mod posts in order to contain people's asinine opinions about said bans to chat, and I think that's a good idea too.

This crop of lazy cuckold janitors don't even properly send notifications when they give you warning points, so I don't know if they can be relied on to update the thread without people saying "hey why did X get ban?". Just keep it open but tell them to get extra-hotpockety with the opinions.

Go look at the posted forum guidelines and ask yourself "Is this a fair and accurate description of the behaviour we do and don't tolerate on Kiwi Farms"?

People need an idea of what is and isn't tolerated here. They can find out why people are banned in theory, which is hopelessly inaccurate, or they can read why people were banned in practice. Or they can just go hit'n'miss and maybe get banned.

Every internet community benefits from a bam thread ; if nothing else it serves a containment for all the faggotry that would otherwise be shitting up the chatbox.
