Yes its a form of conditioning a person. Likes and Dislikes groom people into a certain mindset, Some of it is warranted others can be used in a subversive way. Look up Scholarly articles pertaining to "In group preferences and favoritism vs out group preferences and favoritism". Essentially even if you know the group is wrong, you agree with them so not to be an outlier. This is a general study and does not necessarily apply to everyone but it does for most Ex. all the people complaining about KF stickers. Many cults utilize this concept to great effect. It is used primarily to make one conform to an ideology they may otherwise not subscribe to under neutral or un-pressured circumstances.

On KF, negative reactions is more of a petty form of bullying. It's not a coincidence it's the same people that keep neg rating completely fine posts.
Or because some do not genuinely know that some form neg rating gives a neg hit to the reaction score. When they meant to rate horrific or autistic.
