By this, I mean have you ever known a person, whether closely or just in your general vicinity, who has traits similar to Chris? If so, what were they like? I'm asking because i'm trying to work out what it must be like to deal with him to a day-to-day basis.

I have two people in my life who have some of Chris' traits.

The first is the daughter of one of my mum's friends. The whole 'pity-pal' incident struck a cord with me because of her. Her mum did the same thing Bob presumably did, speaking to the teachers and having a few students given the task of making friends with her. And, like Chris, she was and is throughly ungrateful for it. I'm also friends with one of them, and she's shown me messages this friend has sent since, calling her a 'false friend' and claiming she only did it for 'riches' (still trying to work that out...). It made me laugh because I realised the other day how Chris-like those messages were.

The second is a man I now work with. He is how I picture Chris being when he worked for Wendy's. He doesn't actually work, more... spends as much time as he can up in the stockroom so he doesn't have to pretend to do work. Like Chris, he also has a certain disregard for hygiene. He's not a bad guy, in fact he's been pretty friendly when we've talked, but the sheer lack of work ethic made me think of Chris.

I know this post probably makes no sense folks, I just came off the night shift. Basically... this isn't attacking anybody, and I know Chris is a whole 'nother level. But we all know that there are people like Chris out there in society, and i'm wondering how many of Chris' traits others share. If this is offensive or anything, i'll take it down.

My once best friend's little brother had autism and could from time to time claim he seen things, like ghosts and stuff, and come to think about it, the more i remember the more Chris-like he turns out, his mother was not a hoarder, but a original in her own right and big as hell and had problems moving around and enjoyed shouting in a nasal voice and had her own mindset about the spiritual world and had no problems not only believing him in seeing things, she outright endorsed it, making claims she heard that the place and time he usually saw ghosts was astounding since *insert spooky whistle* a tragic backstory happened invlving death and unfinished bussiness, didnt help they lived in a small rural town in wich i hardly believe that many people hanged/killed off their family and shit was going on.

He loved anime and Yu-Gi-Oh, and Beyblade and all that long over the "recommended age" still creaming "BEYBLADE ENGAGE!" while playing with... himself. But i guess the difference here is that he had a best friend in his half brother, who also had a tragic back story but was a normal kid. I actually saw him and talked to him alot later in life and it seems he used his autism to perfect his skills with welding (wich you all probaby know, is a hot sought occupation in terms of making a good salary, specially if he manages to get work at oiling plattforms wich was his aim at that time. i better ask around about how that turned out though)

And yes, there is something with Autism (and other similar disabilities) and skillfull welding, or so i heard from teachers praising those kind of tudents since they are more or less self-going early on and don't mind the mundane stuff with staring in a training booth for a half a year...

First off, I feel your pain. I work night shift too.

Anyway, way back in high school (aka the best time anyone will ever have in their entire life with cool socialization) there were 2 kids who were sort of like Chris. One was a really quiet, soft spoken guy who didn't have any real friends due to a serious learning dissability. However, all of us genuinely liked him a lot because he was very nice and could play piano like nobody's business. I thought he couldn't communicate well via socializing so he would try and do it through music.

The other guy was sort of the opposite. He was really good at math but was loud and got out of control a lot. The only time you could actually hang out with this guy was when people would get together and play Magic. He had a group of girls who were sort of his pity friends same as Chris since most of us guys (including the pianist guy) didn't really like him that much. The only thing I vividly remember was when we had driver's ed class together. The first time he got to drive he just put it in gear and mashed on the gas. The other 2 of us in the back seat and the driver's ed teacher nearly :briefs: ourselves. Needless to say his entire driving experience was about 10 seconds and he was removed from the class.

I don't know where either of these two guys are now.

I've mentioned in a few other posts how I had a friend in elementary school that I think was a good indicator of Chris's younger days. She was my BFF's older sister, (I'll call her Squeaky) though she always acted much younger.I never found out what exactly was wrong with her, but when reading about Chris's childhood, I can draw all sorts of parallels between him and Squeaky. She had a certain level of difficulty in handling her emotions and sometimes threw tantrums in class, though never to the extent that Chris does. She was tuned out to what was going around her most of the time, preferring to act out little stories with her eraser heads or pretend she was in Super Mario/Pokemon land. I was one of the few friends she had, because being with her basically put you into the role of a babysitter. You had to try to keep her calm and out of any trouble she might wind up in. I bet you that's what all Chris's High School Gal-Pals felt like; they were babysitting a special-needs kid. Now, her parents actually disciplined her for acting out which I think is why she never flipped out like Chris does. Another thing Chris does that Squeaky did was look down on other special needs kids. Squeaky was horrible to this one guy with Downs Syndrome back in middle school for no reason at all.
All that being said I kind of miss her, it's been years since I last saw her. :(

Yeah, there's a girl who attends my university (who was, for some time, a member of one of the clubs I'm in) who mirrors quite a bit of traits that Chris has. Granted, she's not like Chris in the sense that she's gross/unhygienic or has a fascination with Sonic, but rather, she's a smug hipster douchebag version of Chris who has an overblown ego, is insufferably annoying and pretentious, acts childish despite being an adult, and uses her Facebook as a means of seeking validation from others.

I'm not FB friends with her myself, but since the dipshit decided to keep everything public, here goes:

As I stated, she likes using Facebook as a means of seeking attention/validation from others, and the primary way she does this is through updating her cover photos. Some of her cover photos have included a checklist-like thing which asked, "Do you like me?" with Yes/No/Wolfgang (lol) as being the potential options, and my personal favorite, which is an ALL CAPS Twitter post which roughly states, "I MAY COME OFF AS BEING IMMATURE AND ANNOYING, BUT I'M SMARTER THAN YOU" to which she commented with, "~obnoxious as fuq~" like some stupid Tumblr SJW trying to be ~*~edgy~*~. Like Chris, she comes close to admitting some of her personal shortcomings, but completely fucks it up by acting like a total douchewad at the end. She thinks she's hot shit, and that she's smarter and better than everyone else, but doesn't have any notable talent or achievements to back up her claim. And, in a fashion similar to Chris, she is hellbent on knowing which people on Facebook actually like her, although she opts to ask by using some thinly-veiled references to Odd Future instead (which I don't see how is relevant, not to mention is extremely ironic that she likes them as a self-proclaimed feminist, but whatever). She has even more of those ALL CAPS Twitter posts that she periodically rotates her cover photos with, and I think one of them had to do with pretty people or something. She also prides herself on being a poser, and we all know how much Chris likes to pose if it means he can gain approval from others (i.e., picking up Sailor Moon because of Megan, dressing up as a Juggalo, etc.).

Oh, and from personal experience, I know that she really, really hates it when other people are getting attention. Like, she felt the need to turn to her friend and childishly gawk because I was getting a lot of compliments on the shoes I happened to be wearing. Seriously, they're SHOES. If you feel inadequate because someone is getting complimented on their shoes, then you seriously need to get the fuck over yourself.

Sometimes I have a hard time believing that this chick actually exists.

EDIT: I found out that the ALL CAPS tweet came from Tyler himself, and it's also probably where she gets all her other attention-seeking bullshit from. Well, I was never a fan of Odd Future or Tyler, so that probably explains why I think this chick is such a pompous twat.

Well there's my brother. Who ironically, is also named Chris. : P

He has autism, he tends to act out a lot, and is obsessed with games and movies.

Few key differences I've noticed. He hated High School and never wishes to go back, he doesn't upload videos of him ranting about stupid shit, he dresses normally, he has decent hygiene (although he has a bad habit of not combing his hair), and he works with our dad somewhat. Also he likes to save his money, saying he wants to go to Hawaii someday.

Okay, during my first year in college my roommate got me in Magic The Gathering. Wanting more opponents, I had the residence guys put up signs to do a Magic night in the commons. Didn't get many players, but I did get one guy who could beat me constantly. We became friends.

Then this guy showed up, wanting to learn how to play. He looked and sounded like a fat Napoleon Dynamite. So first time he comes up he has this random bunch of cards he picked out of bins at the local card shop. Needless to say, he wasn't able to build a good deck with them.

We give him a few tips and he comes back next week with a mono-black deck. Deck has no focus so it plays like shit. He didn't even know what half his cards did. So we try to explain to him the importance of building a theme with the deck. He tries playing with it and he loses constantly. Then during games he say stuff like "they should make anime-themed cards" and go on about the anime he likes. His tastes are very generic and he cannot stand watching anything subbed.

Then one day while doing laundry in the commons, he sees me and asks if there's zombie cards. I say yes and point out that I have a zombie deck. He wants to see them, so I go get my collection and bring them to him. We then spend time looking through my collection to see every zombie card I have while I explain how a zombie deck works. During this time he goes on about how a zombie apocalypse could never happen due to some biological reason. Even though biology was never a strong subject for me, I point out how things are wrong with his argument, but it's obvious he didn't understand.

Next week, he reworks his black deck into being a zombie deck with a few copies of my cards. Since I don't want to play zombie against zombie, I use other decks. He never brings another deck. Every week, it's the same deck over and over. I ended up using it as a test for my new decks. It was only the very last time I played him before exams he built a second deck. He only won once during that entire time and that was because me and another experienced player were focusing on taking each other out (the Cal way to win ) (I will be surprised if anyone gets that reference). All the while, he uses this annoying metal life counter that he spent a good deal of money on. (everyone else used die)

Towards exams, he was the only other guy showing up, so I dropped out. It was a chore listening to him and you can only play the same deck so many times. I know I might sound like an asshole here but the game stopped being fun with him around. I was thankful he didn't return the following year.

Had this chubby kid in my old Catholic school that I studied in a few years back. He got all BLANGRY when I pulled pranks on him and complained to the teachers about it. Other than that, he was a normal, maybe a little bit awkward and rejected kid.

Do you know a person IRL who's like Chris in a way?

I know a guy who's a friend of a friend I know. His house is a mess like Chris' only instead of it being full of junk it's full of garbage. The guy's room has all sorts of stuff stacked up and organized, like his DVDs, video games, etc, yet his floor is messy as hell to the point where when I helped him try to find his glasses I found several dead mice and tons of bugs.

He lives on SSI diagnosed with autism and lives with his mom, only he's in his 20s. He's under the belief that he makes more with his SSI than he would if he had a job. And he's left under this belief via advice from his mother. Whenever he gets money he blows as much of it as he can on hentai DVDs, video games, junk food, but not on anything he needs, like health care, or a dentist (it got so bad to where his teeth actually fell out).

This guy, like Chris, has some weird obsession with getting a girlfriend, yet refuses to do anything to appeal to women, like properly bathe, move out of his mom's house, or have a way to fend for himself or a career. Any efforts to help him are always met with hostility from him, thinking any criticism is a personal insult.

The only things that are really different about this guy and Chris is this guy doesn't cross dress, he doesn't show unnecessary hatred for a game console, nor did he try to make a comic. As far as I know this guy doesn't have bodily function problems like Chris' :briefs: and doesn't really obstain from alcohol the way chris does, in fact I've gone drinking with this guy several times.

I have an uncle who has some traits like Chris (only a much better person)

He still lives with my grandmother ( though sometimes lives at a hotel.)

Instead of anime/ Pokemon he is into old 50s shows, Hannah barbera, Looney Toons, I Love Lucy, Gilligans Island, etc.

He is sort of gruff and not able to socialize very well at all, but always makes an effort to sit with our family at christmas/ thanksgiving dinner.

Unlike Chris, he has a job working as an accountant at the family business

My younger brother is a nonverbal autistic adult. He's a few years younger than I am. He can communicate by typing on a keyboard. Leave him alone and he'll sit in his room all day staring at Transformers on TV. My little brother is smart and excellent at alphabetizing and sorting numbers. He's got a very small job in a mail room and he sorts mail. That's all he has to do.

He lives in a group home and I told the people to ride his ass and NOT let him sit in his room all day doing nothing. He's not nice when people let him get into a routine of nothing. It took almost a year to get him off his ass and working without a meltdown after one shitty group home got all "You don't want to? Okay, come out when you want" with him. Now he lives in one that makes him participate in activities to stimulate his mind.

My little brother is a great fucking manipulator. He knows how to fake meltdowns to get out of doing things he doesn't want to do. BUT and the big BUT is he can't figure out how I know the difference between fake meltdowns and real ones. It's the pitch and intensity of his screaming. Real meltdowns have tears, fake ones don't. Fake meltdowns mean I drag him to do what he doesn't want to do. I tell people how to know the difference. I get told I'm being "so mean" to him all the time if someone sees me almost bodily dragging this kicking, screaming nigger(We're black okay) through a supermarket aisle.

He doesn't like the smell of the detergent aisle? Tough luck, I need fabric softener.
He hates the noise of the ice cream freezer? Tough luck, we have to pass it to get to the frozen veggies. (Only exception: He's seriously overstimulated and in pain. I give him a break for that. I'm not THAT mean!)
He doesn't want to go out because it's raining? Tough luck, put on your coat.
He doesn't want to eat a ham sandwich? Tough luck, you eat what you're given. (I won't feed him things he HATES, like steak and tomatoes. Tomatoes have a texture he can't handle and I let him pick them off a salad or whatever. He chokes on steak.) ///FUCK MEEEE, I can't type today. I thought I proofread this.///
He doesn't think he needs to brush his teeth? Tough luck, I'm not letting your teeth rot. Go brush them.

Doctors said my brother won't ever understand what's said to him or function in society. Our mom pretty much took that as a sign to let him go. I didn't want to get teased about having a retarded little brother. I took it on myself to teach him how to act properly. I taught him turn taking, manners, etc. The basic stuff most kids pick up by watching their parents. I don't let him act up in public. He starts acting stupid at an event where he's having fun? I warn him once and we leave, and I don't care how much he screams. He gets the consequences. Yes, we've had to leave places I wanted to be because of him, and I let him know how pissed off I was at him.

The key with my brother is I follow through with consequences. I tell him "hey, don't hit people! Do it again and we're leaving." He hits, I grab his shirt and pull him bodily out. We left the movie "Finding Nemo" when he didn't stop kicking the seat in front of him. We walked out of a wedding because he wouldn't stop making fart noises and giggling about it and we missed the reception.

I love my brother. His best recent achievement was doing laundry all on his own without me helping him. He has the steps written down and he followed them. I took him out for ice cream for that. I LET HIM KNOW when he's doing a good job. Positive reinforcement really works.

He's not mentally retarded at all. It's just severe autism. He can read, spell, do math and his only big issue is behavior, sensory stuff and communication. His body language for "I love you" is to come up to you and put his head on your shoulder. I got him to accept hugs through that. Sometimes he gives one back once you hug first. Five years of working on him. He learns if you repeat and repeat and repeat and reinforce it.

Chris really needs somebody that rides his ass to get things done. He's got no motivation.
