Very specific instabilities at that, especially stuff where it's a kid with an identity not fully formed yet and latching on to something both to fit in and stand out. Or people who have victim complexes. Or people who have no real problems of their own and have to make shit up for attention because their lives are so boring.

One of my friends was saying that Special Snowflake Syndrome should be added to the DSM and I think that'd be really funny and may actually work. There's a bit of it in everyone when they're growing up, but there's a certain point where you go to the unstable ones, "Wow, you're fucking retarded. Even I wasn't that dumb at your age." Especially when it's adults doing it, like Kitkat and Mr. Enter and the other LOLcows.

Does anyone remember the term "head voices" from the early 2000s? I remember seeing it quite a bit when I was younger on the internet, a few of my then internet acquaintances claimed to have 'head voices' which was essentially this, but instead of them taking over the body as these "multiple system" people do, they'd just say they could hear other characters talking in their head and that was it. Also as far as I know most of the people had their own characters talking to them, although I do remember someone claiming to have had Robotnik (yes from Sonic) in their head.

I think I might vaguely remember head voices (although that specific term is new to me), but I was never really friends with anybody who claimed to have them. They'd be something I stumbled across on like, FF.net or DA or some forums back in the day.

But everybody was kind of into Invader Zim and CHEESE MONKEY WAFFLES humor, so yeah.

There was actually a somewhat active DID/headmate community back on LiveJournal. It was kind of obscure but more or less the same shit, just less active and with fewer factives and fictionkin. It was the first time I came across this phenomenon, whatever it is. I don't think psychology can keep up with the current rate of retardation on the Internet.

2. Wow, it's almost like people with actual DID have no control over which personalities take them over at any given time! Also, is it just me or does it seem like OP is implying that they can "switch," they just don't want to?
3. There is no such thing as "natural multiplicity" (which, btw, is what these special snowflakes call.... this). Psychologists can't even reach an agreement over whether DID exists or not because it's that rare and controversial. But literally every single case of DID has one thing in common: the subject experienced severe trauma during their childhood, which was usually extreme, repetitive physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. They developed alternate personalities as a coping mechanism; the person literally dissociates themselves from a situation or experience that's too violent, traumatic, and/or painful to assimilate with their conscious self. In other words, people develop DID because they have experienced something so fucking horrible and traumatic that their psyches can't bear to integrate it and so create alternate psyches to take on the burden instead (making it so the dominant consciousness is able to function as normally as possible). I cannot think of any other reason as to why the psyche would literally split itself into parts, and neither can psychologists. OP is full of shit, but that's obvious already.

7. Again, "multiple systems" are inherently unstable because there should only ever be one mind in one body, and the psyche should always be whole, not splintered. People with DID are often dangerously unstable (dangerous to themselves, that is).

Complaining about someone being anti-magic is like being pro-Twilight. It's not real; get over yourself. The difference is that Twilight fans typically grow out of it fast, while Tumblrinas like this can stick around in their mid-20s.

I think the reason it's so frustrating is because IRL I put effort into being an open-minded and accepting individual. Trans issues freaked me out when I was 16, but after becoming comfortable with the idea and doing research, I came to my senses and realized it was all good.

So it obviously would really piss me off if I made a blog post (I don't have a blog, just hypothetical here) disagreeing with the absolutely absurd idea of 'headmates' and then get bumrushed by hordes of people who not only want to yell at me and call me a shitty, terrible, BAD human being, but tell everyone I follow, everyone that follows me, and everyone that might have not even heard of me that I'm "a vocal supporter of rape culture" (for not believing in headmate on headmate rape) or "enjoys encouraging oppressed minorities to kill themselves" or something. Even if most of those people do their research and realize I've done nothing of the sort, they will just keep making up incredibly exaggerated claims to 'punish' me for my awfulness, and eventually it will be a stigma that is hard to distance yourself from.

Fuck these people, for real.

So today I looked through some tags on tumblr for Tohru Adachi, because I happen to like him and because the Persona 4 fandom is quite hilarious with some of the bullshit that they do, perhaps even to the point where I'll find some stuff and make a thread for it some day, but that's another topic for another time. I have to admit that this is the first time I've seen a headmate for him on tumblr though.

A little bit of context for those of you who have been living under a rock for the past 7 years and haven't gotten around to hearing about Persona 4's story yet:

Adachi is a cop that's working on the investigation and is also the killer that you're looking for. He's a nihilist and a misanthrope. While he claims that he killed his two victims because he was bored, other information from Japan reveals that he's part of "The Lost Generation," something that's going on in Japan. Long story short: a generation of children were raised to believe that they could get anywhere by studying hard, and when the economy collapsed and they weren't given the job security that they were promised all their life, they couldn't handle the pressure. Many committed suicide.

After you kick his ass, he calms down a lot, learns to be a better person and even saves the world at one point from a giant fire monster. It makes sense in context. Of course, such a complicated character flies over tumblr's heads, especially the fact that he would never kill anyone if it weren't for the bullshit magic TV way, or shoot his gun at a person.

With that out of the way, let's see what we have in store for us today! Not only are they fictionkin. but they also have Adachi as a "facet" as well. I don't know if that's just another fancy word for headmate, but I'm going to assume that it is.
