How Was Your Day?

Discuss the ups and downs of the day. Vent about stuff, express your excitement for upcoming events, etc.

I almost got my wish of not taking my government test today because I overslept, lol. Fortunately, I got to school in time to get all the notes for math. Only missed about ten minutes. We're doing inverse functions right now, and it's shocking how I understand all the material these days. Went to government class to take my test, and it was exactly as I thought it'd be. A five minute waste of time that we apparently had to study for, and I knew the answers to literally every question. Fuck me if I get one question wrong. I'm really liking these college tests so far. Studying is a breeze, and the work is legitimately interesting. Not to mention my peers are so dang helpful and intelligent, even the ones that look like total gangbangers. Can't wait to move on to a university. Nothing special happened at home aside from the fact that I need to take a shower since I missed my chance this morning, lol.

What about you guys?

Oh, forgot to mention the best part of college life so far, getting in and out of class in 5 minutes because you have a test, and having no problems with traffic when you get out. ♥ Best feeling ever.

I went to Toastmasters (it's a speech club) this morning. One of the speeches was an interview with a dietitian, and she made vegetarian chili because she's an advocate for more beans in people's diets. She put a can of Rotel tomatoes and chilies into the chili by mistake and thought it was too spicy, but I thought it was really good.

I went to my supervision class next, and it was OK. We got out about a half hour early and have a test on Tuesday.

I got lunch at a Chinese place and ordered General Tso's chicken. Why didn't I start eating at real restaurants before? It costs as much as fast food, but it tastes so much better and is probably much healthier.

Then I went to Intermediate Spanish I. !Dios mio! I love this class! It's one of my favorite classes ever. I should have studied Spanish instead of business in college.

I went to the park and took a walk for the first time this year. It's in the 40s right now, which is pretty warm for this time of year. It felt so good, and I can't wait till spring when I can do this more often.

I'm planning on going paintballing tomorrow evening. I think it's going to be fun. I've never done it before.

I used to dread Spanish class when I was in high school. The teachers were so awful and we didn't learn a damn thing. Every Spanish word I know comes from the guys who would cuss out the teacher in the middle of class.

my favorite producer at work got headhunted and is going somewhere else. they're replacing her with a shit producer i absolutely hate. i thought we had seen the last of the returning one and i had drunkenly told her off at a wrap party. i will not be working 48 hour marathon weekends because this lady likes to do fuck all during the week and cram everything for last minute.

I always loved my language classes in school (I took Spanish and French in high school). I keep hearing about crappy language classes but just like UFOs, I always hear about them but never see them. I used to go to a forum dedicated to language learners and they also said their language classes were crappy and preferred to self-study.

I really like languages. I've tried to self-study several of them in the past but never got very far. I'm also watching instructional Latin YouTube videos, because I can read a language much better than I can speak, write, or listen to it.

Anyway, today was pretty good. I hope I get to go paintballing tomorrow.

Heh, I got a friend who studies languages like crazy. She moved to Finland for a while and met her boyfriend of 3 years there. I want to learn Russian and old Native American languages, thus making me the most useless member of any business on the border since I suck at Spanish so much. :/ Still, they're really interesting languages.

Yeah, Native American languages are cool, and if you study them, you'll be one more person who speaks the language and help to revitalize it. I've downloaded a PDF on Cherokee but unfortunately the website with the audio has gone down.

I dabbled in some Russian, I mostly used YouTube videos by a poster named usenetposts. I just learned most of the Cyrillic alphabet and a handful of words before I stopped. My dad studied Russian back in the '70s in college, but he just knows how to say "Hark the herald angel says" because they sang Christmas carols in his class.

Good luck with Russian and Amerindian languages - they're really hard.

So far the only word I've learned of the Comanche language is maruawe (hello). I'd love to learn more than, you know, just that, but I don't trust online sources a whole lot. Still, Cherokee sounds like fun as well.

I know the entire Cyrillic alphabet like the back of my hand, but I still have trouble trying to pronounce words and speak in sentences without sounding like a complete retard. :/ I know a couple of common expressions like hello, excuse me, thank you, I love you, etc., but I don't know a whole lot beyond that. I've thought about picking it up again, but I wouldn't have the time or drive anymore. Still, it's nice to be able to read things in another alphabet.

Bleak and terrible, as usual.

Nothing monumental happened during the day, as usual. I woke up at 3:00 AM and cried for, like, half an hour because (starting late May)I have gotten more and more suicidally depressed because of a lack of companionship. In May, I started talking to girls I like with the intentions of befriending them because I didn't want to sound too forward by telling them I felt limerence for them. None of them liked me, so last August I found yet another very sweet, beautiful, smart, and funny girl from Italy. We've become really close friends, and I've asked her if she wanted to be mine(she's lonely too) and she rejected me. I still can't get over her, no matter how hard I try. Many things prior to that have made me so depressed, but I don't want to waste space here talking about them.

tl;dr My day sucked, and I spent it crying, being sad, and going to a school I hate.

I handed in an assessment that was due on 11th of January. Then I did some drab lectures, before heading to the pub to eat burgers and play Tekken.
Except we weren't playing Tekken, we were playing Rock Band, and I was the designated singer because I knew all the words to (Don't Fear) The Reaper and Epic.
My throat is killing me.

Fine, I'm just excited for the weekend where I get to go on a date with my Dunnykins~

Thursdays and Tuesdays are usually really long days for me, I go to school at 10:00 AM and then I get out at 7:00 PM and I have 5 hours in between class where I usually study.

Today I stocked nectarines, apples, pears, strawberries, blackberries, asparagus, and bell peppers. I would have stocked cherries and white grapefruit as well, but we didn't have any in the back. At 4 o'clock the music player got stuck on a two-song loop and was still stuck when I left two hours later. I think it's because of the bad weather.

Dinner was tilapia with yellow rice and sauteed vegetables. I didn't eat the rice.

Had a quiz on Mary Rowlinson today. We do our quizzes in groups, and I had to be the leader because I've never been leader before. Got an essay assignment to do which should be easy now that I have my book. Today in Biology, we went over macromolecules, monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides, fatty acids, lipids, all that fun stuff. Somehow, this is the longest chapter so far. My brother got out of class early, so we picked up my friend, got whatafat with his gubmint money, and watched the last episode of JJBA. What a perfect day.

I'm being a slug today :/

It's below freezing and snowing, and I don't really feel like doing much of anything today. I don't really feel like playing paintball this evening. I have stuff for school I should be doing, and I got some more stuff from the library, a movie, an astronomy book and a book on playing the guitar. I got some books on other hobbies as well a few days ago.

I was really depressed and grumpy earlier this week because I thought I got a job but didn't. It sucks being unemployed, but I'm looking for work, so I hope I find something for this summer.

I'm feeling a lot more chipper than I was earlier this week, even if it is a blah sort of day.

I would've normally been stuck at work until nine, but didn't have to go in because of the weather, so now I'm sitting in bed with a big bag of popcorn and can of cherry-lime rickey, watching netflix and internetting. This is like heaven right now.
