Historical Anti-Tumblr Work: Harrison Bergeron -

Years ago, I had to read this short story in high school. It covers a society in which SJWs have enforced everyone to have equal privilege. The intelligent are dragged down to the level of the stupid, the attractive the ugly, the able the disabled. It's a compelling and amazing work, and probably wasn't intended to be considered prescient to what some SJWs would love to see happen.

It is called Harrison Bergeron.

This is a great work.

It is also an example of why SJWs can be accurately described as being leftist without being liberal, progressive, or having any of the positive attributes associated with what they claim to espouse.

Harrison Bergeron is a great work for so many reasons. It parodies dystopian fiction while simultaneously presenting its own views on the dangers of the topic. Harrison Bergeron not being the best person himself is almost as biting as the society he lives in.

Authors take the piss out of their own opinions all the time, especially Vonnegut. George Orwell was also a socialist and he still wrote stories about what would happen if it was taken too far or corrupted.

Harrison Bergeron takes the piss out of both sides, but also lines up nicely with what SJWs want to happen even if it is satirical.

EDIT: On second thought, there might be some issues with this. If everyone was equal, even forcibly so, the SJWs would have nothing to scream about. And as we all know they don't care about justice, even misguided justice like this. They care about feeling superior.

Still, bringing up Vonnegut is always good in my book.

It was inspired by, not directly based on it. It had elements from other dystopian fiction, as well as a song inspired by WWII propaganda marches. Choice quotes from the episode include:

- "In Sameness, There is Peace"
- "Exceptionalism Is A Lie"
- "Conformity Will Set You Free"

Presented over a loudspeaker on a loop while they're in prison.

"You can't have a nightmare if you never dream."

I saw actually little reaction from the usual places, either they just don't care about the show anymore or don't want to bite bait. The few reactions I did see ranged from getting mad at the show to getting mad at fans for trying to draw connections between the villain and modern SJWs.

Of course. I always felt like there was a possibility he could become a tyrant. Given how he was automatically claiming the title of emperor and making decrees without regards to anyone else. So unless he can get over the abuse and issues of his past, he might create his own disutopia in the other direction.

It is almost as if SJWs don't want actual equality. They only want power for themselves. Kind of reminds me of George Orwell's Animal Farm in which the quote "All animals are equal. But some are more equal than others." That quote is exactly what SJWs believe, despite them claiming "MUH TREU EQUALETEH".
