Obviously I acknowledge the satire of this post. I also, however, see the truth in it. Why has it come to this point? I would theorize that it hasn't really - it's a similar problem to what is happening in every aspect of society right now. The advent of the internet and instant communication has allowed the vocal minority to rule the landscape. I think there are still plenty of homosexual people out there who don't flaunt it or make it their entire personality. That's the key, though - they're not out there yelling about it. In all topics we only hear from the portion of the population that is constantly whining and screaming about this or that - the reasonable, level-headed people with nuanced opinions are less inclined to put themselves out there. Furthermore, the more we become ruled by this vocal minority, the less likely the reasonable people are to speak out. It's a serious issue and I'm honestly not sure what the solution is.
