Someone called me a Wumao, how cute. If I make my views on Taiwan known in China, I'd be arrested. What I'm essentially doing here is saving the pictures people post in some of the chatgroups I'm in and doing very basic translations. Since those groups are Chinanet, obviously most of the stuff is laughing at the protesters and some of their frankly laughable actions. Don't like it or you feel personally challenged, just post stuff from the other side. I want to see it, we all do.

Think I'm biased or selective or whatever, you can be the posting stuff about "police brutality" or whatever else. I don't use twitter or Facebook, and I'm not going to just for this. BTW, I'm not selective. If I were, I wouldn't be showing that PLA pic above and complimenting their brick blockades as a better method than burning roads.

The text mainly talks about HK normies should stand up to the protesters and how the younger generation's education is far more important since schools have closed due to the protests. It also shows the police motorcycle running through protesters with text saying "he's trying to disband the protesters [presumably to clear the roads]". Draw your own conclusions.

1. YT actively removes videos on the subject of violence (some of my earlier links were ovened, such as that guy being set on fire, I eventually found one from a verified outlet behind an age barrier)

There's a mainland conspiracy about YouTube actively censoring differing views since the company has some stuff going on in Taiwan, I've seen zero proof of it. I did however see many of my links ovened, so I just started downloading everything. I don't really believe this claim, but I won't be surprised either way. YouTube is not pro-free speech.

Similar to that CPC cartoon about espionage awareness specifically targeted as people working in industries that concern sensitive information where "China Uncensored" called "discrimination/racism", it's a nothingburger and clickbait. They will intentionally mistranslate stuff and omit the context to mislead their viewers.

That's essentially their format, report on something half-baked, bring up some weird news they found that no one has ever seen prior, and push their own talking points. Statistically, ~60% Asian women in western countries don't want an Asian guy. This 60% (most of which are Chinese) is caring less about whether Mao is a dictator or not (he is, and he is a piece of human garbage), amazing how they found such an absurd article about some nobody being triggered at facts.

Firstly, they're using freedom of assembly while they still have it. This is no insignificant thing. And also, it underlines the differences between them and the mainlanders; differences which they consider to be important as they are at the heart of their argument about how the PRC is shitting up Hong Kong. If the kids all pack it up and go home now, they may find that the next time they try it, they're unable to get it off the ground.

Secondly, they're giving a real black eye to the Party and they're well aware that all of this also impacts on the Taiwan issue in a way that Beijing will very much dislike. If you can't beat 'em, you can at least fuck with 'em.

And there is a genuine tangible bonus to all of this which I'm not sure that anyone has remarked upon yet. It is being made very, very clear to all mainlander would-be permanent residents that they are extremely unwelcome in Hong Kong. Naturally, lots of pro-Party types would insist this is all the more reason to move to Hong Kong to shove it up their asses, but at the end of the day if you're a mainland richkid whose Dad is sufficiently corrupt that you can afford to choose to ham it up on WeChat in a more glamorous location than whatever grey-skied shit hole that his grift runs out of, you're less likely to choose Hong Kong now.
