Same problem every online community has.I've said it in his thread, but it's kind of amazing that Doug really isn't a lolcow (in my mind), but holy shit is he a carrier. Doug is just merely a producer of low quality videos to me; dude doesn't even have an internet presence outside of Youtube videos. No Facebook, no Twitter, no Instagram, no nothing.
I can't think of another case where someone attracted so many giant lolcows without being a lolcow himself. Or if you prefer, Doug is much less of a lolcow than the people that magnetized to him. Because holy shit have the people that left Channel Awesome branched out into some Grade A spergery.
The only people with the time and "passion" to help and get involved are the habitual losers. Normal people with a healthy life and routine between friends, family, work, romance, and hobbies aren't going to care about the Internet or making videos on it. Instead you got a parade of college dropouts, part-time retail clerks, "activists", and full-on grownass adults who live with their parents.
For most of them CA was their entire life and their only means of real support. Since it's demise they're struggling as middle-age sets in and they realize their lives are going to be a hard slog from here on out.
Zac goes to Disneyland constantly, usually alone. If you search his Twitter image archive you'll see he's fond of taking "ironic" pictures of the junk he sees in the gift shops because that's totally not obnoxious behavior.Being a 39 year old soy and going to Disneyland on a date sounds like the punchline of a cruel joke.
