I'm sure most folks on here are aware of the 2004 documentary "Supersize Me" that chronicled what a month long diet of nothing but McDonald's would do to someone. From what we know about Chris' living situation, his diet is really limited to just a few things: Hungry Man frozen dinners, microwave pizzas, Sheetz hot dogs,
orange Fanta
and the McDonald's menu. The Golden Arches seem to be a daily part of Chris' meal plan, which got me wondering if Chris experiences a lot of the same symptoms that Morgan Spurlock talked about when making his film. In the first five days of Spurlock's experiment he experienced depression, lethargy and headaches. A doctor told Spurlock that he considered him "addicted" to the food, and claimed he was losing muscle mass. He also lost energy and sex drive, and even experienced heart palpitations from the extreme diet.
Is Chris' extreme diet as bad, or even worse than the "Supersize Me" experiment? Is it possible for Chris to get proper nutrition even at a basic level from just McDonald's, tv dinners and gas stations? It's clear that Chris has lost a lot of muscle mass when comparing his young adult frame to his current one. It's also clear that Chris has no energy and apparently shows signs of having a low sex drive. McDonald's has attempted to make their menu healthier in the 9 years since the movie's release, but I doubt "Mighty Wings" and deep fried potatoes are helping Chris in any nutritional way. We already know chris has heart problems. Was it caused by his bad diet, or did he just inherit them? Even if it is hereditary, the bad diet probably explains why he has heart issues at a time when most men are pretty fit and healthy.
In my experience, whenever I eat McDonald's more than once in a while, I tend to have a messier time in the bathroom. I really think a diet overhaul would help Chris defeat his battle with
