How come "transhuman" means "changing FROM human", and "transwoman" means "changing TO woman", but "transmission" means
1: an act, process, or instance of transmission of a nerve impulse across a synapse
2: the passage of radio waves in the space between transmitting and receiving stations
3: an assembly of parts including the speed-changing gears and the driveshaft by which the power is transmitted from an engine to a live axle
4: something that is transmitted

how come transformer means a fucking robot now a days!?!?!?!?!

When I grew up, transfrormers were an apparatus for reducing or increasing the voltage of an alternating current. Not a robot in disguise!

I can't continue living isloated with no human contact in my secluded mothers basement knowing not everyone is like me!!!!

I think it's just the imprecision of language.

The prefix trans- can mean through, across, beyond, changing or crossing over. I think that the term transwomen is trying to evoke changing - you are changing from a man to a chemically-neutered eunuch fit only to pay taxes and support the growth of the state - while the term transhuman evokes the act of going beyond - you are now not merely human, but something more, something closer to an Alexa that can walk around and contract mental illnesses.

You could maybe say that trans(gender) should be the act of changing from (gender), rather than to (gender), but I don't think that would fill the rhetorical needs of trannies. Trannies need to be seen as women, so having the word "woman" in their gender, somewhere, is of critical importance. If they were called transmen (changing from men), then they wouldn't get to call themselves women. Furthermore, we would have no way of knowing what gender they currently identify as (our hypothetical term "transman" would function the same as "assigned male" does IRL; since assigned males may now "turn into" any number of things, from women to enbies to perigenders to spikegendered systemfluid omnigays, merely knowing that a transperson was once assigned male cannot tell us what gender that person is today).

But honestly, I think the weirdest thing is that the LGBTQ crowd still uses the term "transwoman" at all. I think it's quite likely that, unless the tankies beat the neoliberals and ban gays, then sometime in the near future, MtFs will insist on simply being called "women", and the word "transwoman" will be declared hatespeech.

tl;dr Don't try to think too hard about the meaning of the term "transwoman", because it's not meant to make sense on a logical or rational level. It's a stopgap measure meant to help advance the agenda, and it'll be used only so long as it proves to be rhetorically helpful.

I'd pick the first one, but that's just me.
