I was going to post this on n0chan but since its gone I decided to come here.

My case is that I'm schizophrenic and soon my job will require me to socialize online, I'm going to publish a webcomic and maybe make some smut comissions but the thing is that I'll have to keep a blog/tumblr and live with the possibility of my comic or art making people angry.

Its not just how to not get trolled or simply not being a creep, there is something else that sparks the lolcow-lolmilker bussines.

I have been told to inform people that I'm sz and what I say isn't the most rational all the time or simply not post anything beyond art, I know at the end I'll do the second thing but there is always a thingy-thing that may make everything fall.

People are going to be angry. What matters is how you react to it. Remain positive and don't feed the trolls.

Be careful what you share about yourself online.

Have a sense of humor about yourself.

The only way to deal with trolls is not to engage them.

Get out frequently and have a life outside the internet and whatever geek interests you may have.

Be open to criticism about your comic. You don't have to make every change they tell you to, but be polite, thank them for their help, and consider if their advice might improve your work. :)

Don't let your fandom or kink define you. Everyone has stuff they geek out over and stuff they get off to, but don't let either be an unhealthy obsession.

These two are very important. To expand on the latter, try not to sperge out about your fandom unless you're with someone who you know will also sperge out about it and will enjoy doing so. And don't get into tard fights over head canons and shipping on a public forum. Shit like that can be fun to talk about but it's not worth getting mad over.

Have someone sensible proofread everything you put online.

Considering your schizophrenia, this may be a good suggestion. The fact that you're already thinking about ways to avoid drama is a good sign to me, but if you think you may need help there's no shame in asking for it.

Everyone says and does stupid shit. Not being made fun of is easy though. There's really only four things you have to worry about.
  • Admit when you're wrong or you've made a mistake.
  • Listen to others' advice.
  • Try to work hard in your life and live to your potential.
  • Try to be kind and thoughtful in how you interact with others.
Along these lines I'd like to add one other thing:

It's a good thing you made people laugh. Laugh with them. It's ok to laugh at yourself when doing the 4 great points listed above. It will help you do all 4 of them better in the future.
