I was trying to explain the whole Sonichu/Chris-Chan phenomenon to my heartsweet this morning. One of the points I touched on with him was the volume of fan art (videos, stories, pictures, etc). Another big point was how he gives us perspective--our lives aren't so bad after all; some people are successful despite worse obstacles than what OPL has so far faced; how we should handle our own personal men in pickle suits--that sort of thing.

So what have you gained from the autistic man baby being a part of your world?

Chris brought me prickly wicklies because of how much he shits himself and doesn't give a fuck about it. That's... very inspiring. In the sense of not doing that in any situation.

No A-Logging was intended, and I'm glad you posted those threads. My search before posting didn't find those, and I'm glad this sorta positive sentiment has been shared.

OPL has inspired me to keep my shit generally together, shown me when attempting to help can be futile, and made me appreciate my ground-up sweetheart, my Crystal (with a better name), and my relatively healthy relationships with my family.

I am also inspired in my writing. I'm writing a stage play loosely based on Chrissy, and I love seeing the fan art, the recolors, and the shoops. There's a lot of talent devoted to OPL and I look forward to seeing more.

I've drawn and continue to draw my share of fan-art. Some of the drawings I've done here for the CWCiki Forum really helped me get back my inspiration to draw; just drawing something stupid for the pure fun of it and not having to worry if it isn't a great work of art.

I've learned about scabies. I didn't even know it was caused by mites before.

Most of my knowledge of current video games, My Little Pony, and the McDonalds' menu comes from reading about Chris.

I've thought about what it would take to coach fatty into fixing his life. So, just going over what you'd need to say to him to explain what he needs to do. But then I started thinking that, damn, a lot of that advice I should be following. I mean, I bathe and stuff, of course, but I still could use some more confidence when I talk to people. So I've been trying to keep that in mind in my social interactions.

For years I've wondered what my deal was with "creative" lolcows/tartlets. I've been obsessed with them since I first found they exist (starting with Gontykins <3). And now I think I've put my finger on what it is about them.

Their delusions of potential greatness. They're generally horrendous at what they do, but they so firmly believe that they crap out gold and have great things ahead of them, and you just have to love that and want to encourage them. I think that letting go of my own childish delusions that I'd create great things like not-pokeymanz (age and be a diznee anim8or (15) killed a lot of enjoyment I got out of life, and I don't think I'll ever get those delusions back. Not gonna lie, I'm really going to miss those pipe dreams.

But people like Chris feel (felt) strongly that they could do it, in their mid-20's and older, and in a way I can kind of live through them.

That and like Sakamoto, cranking out pretty much nothing but lolcow fanart has de-rusted my skills and allowed me to grind them up somewhat. Followed by an increase in inspiration - in my case (and other's), making up stories about whatif scenarios starring our favorite lolcows!
