There was a sweetheart candidate headed towards his house on the 4th, but the 'Road Closed' sign diverted her back towards Charlottesville. Maybe another one will show up in a decade or so.

Holidays for them had been declining before Bob died. We've not seen evidence for Christmas in years, we've never heard about Thanksgiving, Easter only exists in old childhood photo that we know of. But of course since Barb fully took over the family 14 Branchland Court is a No Fun Zone.

For me, holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, have been a time for visiting family and seeing relatives that I don't get to see often. I love this aspect of the holidays, as well as chowing down on good food I get depressed when I think of how shitty Chris and Barb's holidays must be, but I feel sorry for Chris because he is a victim of his mother's selfishness. I don't feel sorry for Barb because she created this situation for herself and her son.

I don't think Chris will ever outgrow wanting to celebrate the holidays. Actually practicing it is another question, but I have no doubt he's paying attention to them (wistfully in the past, probably with bitterness these days).

On the subject of Christian Love Day I think that might be the one special occasion that has lost its sheens to him since it's a reminder he is growing anchuent and is still alone (he mentioned being depressed about his 30th on his Facebook).

The thing is, does Chris even remember what it's like to be employed? Save for his month or so at Wendy's he never really had a straight job. CutCo doesn't count. His entire life has been a meaningless soup of nothing. Even looking at his various videos he gets the date confused all the time, as well as the day. And not just "Is it Tuesday or Wednesday?" but "Is it Tuesday or Sunday?" lapses of time.

During the summer, when I cannot get a summer course to make (which is never here, gods I hate living in this wasteland) I keep myself on a strict schedule of going to the office and getting shit done. I have too. I also have a fairly structured day to boot, again, I have too. If I don't, I would lose my mind and start to lose track of time. I can only imagine the hell of days just blending into one another with no milestones to look forward too. And now without Bob, I bet the "big" holidays, like Christmas, are barely celebrated in any way.

They brought this shit on themselves but I can only imagine the horror of living through it.

He did go to college though. I don't really know what studies at a community college would entail, but you've got to assume it would imply some manner of structure. It's been a while though.

Well, even Community Colleges have rigid class times. I would assume that Bob registered his classes for him and probably made them as close together as possible so Chris wouldn't have to drive much or wait around too long. So I agree, there would have been some structure for him for a portion of the day. Nothing like High School though, at all. I bet Bob really got on his ass about getting to campus on time to attend class.

Yeah, there's structure in community college. You go to your classes, you go home. Like work. Not too many classes are offered during the summer though. Not even work study most of the time unless your CC has a nice grant.

I don't think Chris was never offered work study back when he behaved because you need to be getting financial aid from the college to do workstudy. I don't believe Chris qualified for financial aid at PVCC. He had no record that one time I was able to look when I had a temp job in a va cc financial aid office.
