How is it not obvious that Rockstar's intentionally making Red Dead Online utter shit - (The latest updates says otherwise)

So it's been over 3 months since the initial release of Red Dead Online (the electric boogaloo, Ballad of Dutch, the time John Marston was a faggot; whatever be the case); we were promised head on that Rockstar would get off their ass, clean the constant bugs and lags up, and quit holding onto in game premium currency for dear life. Has any of this really happened? No. Why? Cause they know they've fucked up big (not Fallout 76 big; but pretty big to where the blood stains are soaked into the rug) by sleeping on this kind of stuff. Which's what anyone (that is not EA or Activison) shouldn't be doing in order to not get mauled alive. Do they really not understand that the popularity (and real time clarity) of GTA online is dwindling slowly, and quietly going with a whimper? Doubt it.
The whole idea of sliding in a online game (that is half assed polished; especially when a game with astounding quality had won almost 200 GOTY awards as it did) is something a lot of us won't be happy with. Many cases of graphical glitches, lags (mostly on the PS4 verison), and lighting issues (occasional occurence; worse off to the latest update, lowering the quality like they did) are still there. But instead of having to give us an explanation to why they don't have the balls to fix it....

Rockstar kind of screwed themselves over with RDR and GTA Online. I think it would've been better if they established from the get-go that RDR2 is to be enjoyed solo and that's where all their focus was going and that if there was gonna be online play, it would be well down the line when they can release it so it's not made of ass.

I also put some blame on gamers and their incessant need to play online all the time nowadays. Also yeah, they should've known that RDR2 Online would've been a flop.

Single player heavy developers will always be the senile grandparent when it comes to online. It's too hard of a concept for them. GTA SA had one of the worst attempts at a multiplayer ever, and GTA 4's online turned into hacker planet in no time (but that one was actually fun)

Ever since Leslie Benzies was canned, Rockstar North and Rockstar games in general have been shitting on the consumers. GTA V online is a fucking shit show right now and is honestly unplayable. Take Two rushed him out of the door because they were consumed with greed(just like every other AAA game publisher). Even after having the best selling media franchise of all time they still wanted more. This is no exception to Red Dead 2 online. Without their starboy Rockstar and Take Two are fucking lost and it shows. I've been a big Rockstar fan ever since Bully was released but now I'm calling it quits. I'll give one more shot to GTA 6 whenever that releases. Predictably, the story will be fantastic but the online will be over hyped and pay to win.

my theory about this involves with how EA is slowly compromising Take Two and Rockstar games with little to no effort

Well GTAO has been a cash cow for four years despite being bullshit no-fun land, so why would they have expected anything different for Red Dead? Semi-MMO games are bad anyway, so just play the single player ones on the rare occasion they arrive.

I don't know if Cockstar is entirely to blame for it. Let us not forget that Take Two are their slavemasters, and, if R* does not do what they say, people there risk getting fired.

It has to be profitable somehow. Players chew up precious server space.

Damn shame RDO sucks, since when it comes to offline play/story modes, R* are probably one of my favorite AAA devs, RDR2 looks awesone, GTA5 is great from what I’ve played, GTAS 1-SA are classics, and RDR1 is one of my favorite gen 7 games, up there with the likes of Dead Rising 1, Mortal Konbat 9, and Mario Galaxy. Even their lesser games like Red Dead Revolver or GTA4 always have SOMETHING that makes them interesting.

I think part of why RDO has gained less traction than GTAO had by this point is the fact RDR isn’t as chaotic as GTA. RDR’s just more grounded and serious than GTA by nature. I mean you CAN make Arthur/John/Jack a chaotic sociopath who murders townsfolk and robs trains, but that’s not RDR’s primary selling point, as a result it feels super jarring when they try putting in wacky multiplayer modes that are clearly basd on GTAO’s

GTAV was/is a victim of it's own success, they learnt the wrong lessons, and it carried over into other projects like RDR2. GTAV deservedly earned the sales it received, and that player base translated into a lot of online players, but the online was never good and survived off the potential alone. I put 1000+ hours into before I realized it was a shallow experience that was essentially a glorified chatroom with random deathmatches.

They never fixed the load times, they never fixed the balance issues, they never fixed all the bugs and random issues, they added more and more ridiculous items & purchases with the intention to nickle and dime, and they never made the missions fun or worthwhile. GTAV online was just a mindless time-waster.

Why would they change any of that for RDR2 when they still continue to make endless revenue on GTAV online?

As long as it doesn't affect the single-player experience, I don't mind Rockstar doing whatever with online multiplayer. As it is, RDR2's story mode is spectacular, so it's all good.

That said, with GTA5 still placing in sales charts regularly today, I suspect there's little incentive for Rockstar to continue with GTA6 at this point (if it's even in development at all right now).

Houser said “not during this US presidential term”. He joked that it’s so Trump spergs and Antifa Asshats don’t reeee at them, but I’m guessing it could also mean that there’s something else in the pipeline. Maybe Bully?

He basically said that there is no way they could make a parody of the US with the way everyone is acting and didn't even want to try. I can't blame him.
