On an emotional level it probably upsets them, but since the whole point of transitioning is to pump yourself full of the hormones your brain thinks it needs to not experience dysphoria, I doubt it has much impact on their day to day lives. If they're already passing, then nobody would even know. On a political level it'll probably end up hurting them in the long run just by association.

There are legal and medical requirements to change your gender on your government identification, and relaxing that to "I'm going to put my hairy naked man ass in the women's locker room at the pool because I feel like a lady today" is going to cause a huge backlash when some pervert does the inevitable. Social justice types will either have to circle the wagons for a creep (not unheard of) or admit that maybe we need some restrictions to prevent dudes walking around locker rooms with their floppy female dicks at kids' eye levels.
