How serious does Chris take his fame. -

Chris' recent talk about how he's lonely and no one recognizes him in public makes me wonder. About back during and before the Miyamoto saga, how serious does Chris take his claims that he is famous? I guess this also ties into the question that I still don't think is answered, how serious did he take the profit potential of Sonichu?

I guess this ties in with his amazing capacity for cognitive dissonance. At the time he claimed he had over a billion fans, that would mean that about 15% of the people he talked to should recognize him and sperg out about Sonichu. As far as I knew that never happened to him even once. How much of this is him being too stupid to put two and two together and how much of it was just arrogant bluster he never rely bought into? Did he ever realize that if he had that many fans people would be beating down his door wanting to monetize Sonichu.

Opinions, evidence? This is something that has always kind of bothered me about Christory, lol.

I think at one point he took it seriously. I've seen people thinking they can get rich off of their fanmade creations, including composite characters. He was once in the mindset that he had a totally new character on his hands and that he could get backing from two companies that were rivals for several years.

Nowadays? I think he still holds onto Sonichu because that's his "baby." I don't think he sees it as something he can sell as a franchise anymore; more like... it's out of fondness of his creation that he clings to it in some form. *Sonichu represents better days for CWC.

It kind of reminds me of DF01 and her character Marina Seadrift, who she has been drawing and writing for about 13 or 14 years. I don't think either of them will ever let go of their characters, despite everything.

Annnnnnnnd I forgot the fan aspect entirely... I don't think he believes he has fans anymore. He regards everyone with suspicion and paranoia nowadays.

I think it's changed recently and by that I mean he used to believe that he had millions of fans before he even made his first video. He thought that he could organize his fanbase to be his own personal army when most of the people following him were trolls. And let's not forget that he thought he was worthy enough to have a Wikipedia page for himself. His reasons for this were Sonichu, his legions of fans and his ancestry.

He then demanded his personal Sonichu army to flood Wikipedia and get them to put his page back up. So I'm pretty sure he was serious about his fame.

Fast forward to 2013 and he's just starting to realize how much of a sad loser he is and that his 15 minutes of fame are pretty much over and done with. Nobody cares about Sonichu and I think he's starting to accept it. He's going to die a sad and lonely individual missed by nobody other than the trolls. Kinda pathetic ain't it?

I agree. At one point, he thought he was famous and thought he could build a franchise -- despite knowing nothing about how it works, but when has that ever stopped Chris? -- although now he is starting to see that "Sonichu is dead." I'd say that at the least he may believe that he really had legit fans at one point. At best, he's coming out of denial and seeing the truth. Like I hastily added above, even if he truly still believed he had fans he'd be paranoid about anyone who claimed to be one and would run away.

Seeing this video for the first time has removed the last bit of sympathy that I have for Chris. This video really is some good proof that Chris is mainly a jackass, and that his autism is secondary to that. I'd like to see some white knights watch this and try to defend him. Pretty sure Anna and (most) of the asspat brigade have seen it. They either just ignore it or make excuses for it (i.e. Chris is autistic, he doesn't know what he's doing!He was under stress from all the trolls! He's really a great guy!! Don't abandon him!!). Or, and I think this is most likely with them, laugh at it. Anna, just like the rest of her facebook friends following Chris, don't really care if Fatty actually insults or creeps someone out by drawing rule34 of them. It's all entertainment to them.
