How to get into Sonic? -

I'd like to know what all the autistic fuzz is about... How to I best get a feel for that speedy blue bunch of quills? I don't have a game console, is there a way a play Sonic games on a PC? Maybe some free downloadable clone game stuff or just some browser game that let's me find out what it feels like to play some zippin' Sonic?!

You could download an emulator. Then download the games.
To be honest though it's a waste of megabytes IMHO.
That or you could read the shitty comics online somewhere no doubt.

Sonic Generations and the Sonic Adventure games are all on Steam. You can also buy the Genesis games on Steam, but you should just use an emulator, as that's free.

Just play Sonic The Hedgehog II. That's the only good Sonic game ever made.

Like most retro games, it's hard to play a Sonic game in this day and age and understand what all the fuss was about.

The original Megadrive/genesis ones are still the best, but tbh they were very "of the moment" kind of like bermuda shorts or saved by the bell.

The Sonic games are all boring and lack substance, his forced cool always bugged me too. Sonic is a poor man's Mario. Mario is a fat plumber he doesn't need to be cool because the games themselves do the talking for him. The SMS Sonics are more fun than the Mega Drive ones too.

I don't think my eyes have ever recovered from the 2 player mode on Sonic 2.

Play Sonic 3 and Knuckles. That game is actually fun... despite problems like splitting what should have been one game into two, and how annoying it is to collect all the chaos emeralds.

Hey now, sonic the hedgehog was my first ever video game. But that's all it ever was to me. A video game. But really, I loved/still love all the old console games, from the days of Nintendo, up to the Mega-drive. Only thing was, the mega drive was my first console and the Nintendo came later in my life. So Sonic and SEGA still have a special place in my heart. Sonic 2 was the best in my opinion. I had that on the SEGA Game Gear though.

There are two kinds of gen Y'ers: Ones who grew up with SEGA... And ones who grew up with Nintendo...
