Protonmail isn't encrypted, they store the key and could easily just view the plain text email.

Depends on what I'm doing, if you're doing anything you are genuinely worried about facing legal repercussions for then I would use TOR, any vpn that supports crypto payment (Mullvad is good example) and a browser like Pale Moon.
For E-mail Disroot is good, Elude is alright if you want to send a burner message or two.
People always recommend Tails but any OS that isn't spyware is fine, Windows 7 is fine if you disable all the telemetry for example.
For general browsing any VPN/Browser that isn't selling your data is fine, you can even use firefox with about：config tweaks and avoid any spying they do.
Most VPN companies will submit to a court order but you're not going to get a court order if you're not doing anything serious anyways.

like if he pulled all the tricks the silk road guy did to hide himself. that guy was enevntually found, but that was only because he was selling 100's of millions of dollar of drugs through his site. they probably wouldn't have put near the amount of effort into something like kiwifarms.
You forgot the most important rule.. Don't be exceptional enough that people WANT to dox you in the first place. Why would doxers waste their time on someone who doesn't attract attention to themselves and has done nothing noteworthy? Stay under the radar, don't become a target, and you usually won't have to worry about these rules (although it is good advice in general for privacy and most I recommend.. But LinkedIn is very hard to avoid depending on your profession)
