Facebook has a strong base of total normies who only use the site to post about the most mundane shit imaginable. They dont know, and will likely never learn, about what FB is doing with their collected info behind the scenes.

Facebook is in fact the modern representation of the ancient book of the damned known as the Zuccronomicon. There is no known way to kill it, because the normies keep it alive.
They've firmly established themselves as the premier way to stay in contact with colleagues, friends and relatives, as evidenced by their advertising pre-cambridge scandal. They'll keep going strong regardless of what happens.

To be honest? I don't think facebook is gonna die for a very long while if ever, it has a lot of users, is a very big presence on the internet, and many many people use it. It's sticking around.

Other sites like Myspace also had a big presence, but Myspace wasn't used by your mom (unless she was some youngish white trash mom) The difference with Facebook is that it's used by "everyone"

Seriously, I don't think it'd die unless somehow a better replacement arrives where everyone will flock to. It's what you call a "natural monopoly" - serves a certain purpose and people use it simply because everyone else uses it. G+ died specifically because people don't need it for that reason.
I know plenty of people who don't even post any shit on it and only use it to talk to other people, like myself.

Facebook is, or at least was, a popular way for pedophiles to post pictures.
I was sent a link to a page by someone who asked me to report it. I'm not one to report stuff, but I did this time because the photos were of a kid naked on a hotel bed. I didn't continue clicking to see if the photos got more graphic, but it was clear these weren't like the bubblebathtub pictures grandma takes, and these pictures were up on the internet for anyone to see.
