I think when someone calls people "fucking niggers" and actually describes himself as "racist" that the whole racist thing is kind of established.

It's actually not illegal to be racist. It is illegal, though, to leak sealed court documents to circumvent a court order and get revenge on the other side, assuming that's what happened.

So it's totally cool to ignore Hogan's racism in a topic about Hogan's racism because of this site's bias against Gawker. You want to bitch about them, fair enough. There's another thread for that where that's more than welcome. This is about Hogan being a racist though and to see it devolve into a "FUCK GAWKER" from the typical "grrr liberulz" crew is just poor form. Over something they supposedly did. An accusation that has suspicion but no actual proof. Unlike Hogan's racism which is clearly out there.

On topic Brooke Hogan wrote a poem about her father. As it turns out her writing hasn't improved since her failed singing career.

If the tape's anywhere near as awful as the quotes, I totally understand why Hogan was reprimanded.

That said, what pisses me off is just how selective this whole process is. WWE didn't sack Hogan because he said racist shit: they sacked him because he got caught. Dusty Rhodes spent years doing shit like his "Kyke Cabana" act. Kevin Dunn's such a vile, sexist cunt, @Holden's his bastard son. Donald Trump was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame after his promotion of the President being a secret Kenyan Muslim Indonesian who wasn't born in America.

If WWE - and any other company in a similar situation - actually cares about not wanting to associate themselves with unrepentant scumbags, they should be consistent with their punishments. The fact that they're not doing so shows this whole thing is about nothing more than image and cowardice.

Nobody's ignoring Hogan's racism. We all know that the word "nigger" is bad and racist. I just don't think he should have been fired based on racism he displayed during a private conversation that should have never been leaked in the first place.

I know you take pride in being the progressive social justice warrior on the forum, but most of us have all said nasty things at some point in our lives and if someone recorded you making those remarks from many years ago without your knowledge and that cost you your job, wouldn't that be pretty fucked up?

Hogan's already been punished pretty much instantly for his offense. He's an example of how freedom of speech doesn't mean saying stupid shit can't get you in trouble.

Deliberately leaking sealed material in order to prejudice an upcoming court case, though, if that's what happened, is actually a serious crime the government (and specifically that court) can punish. It's currently more interesting to me than the latest "dipshit says something racist, gets smacked" carnival.
