Somehow I've got the feeling WWE are just waiting till this all blows over and H̶u̶l̶k̶ Mr America will reappear in a year or two.
I'm not sure. I can see them certainly repersoning him on the web slowly, but I wonder if part of this is Steph/HHH finally getting a chance to throw him out forever.

I think Hogan will end up back in Japan for a while.

TNA can't afford to pay for anybody and I can't see much of a place for Hogan in current ROH, maybe he turns out to be the long lost Brisco Dad? AAA has more people than they know what to do with and CMLL doesn't bother much with gringos.

Japan's usually dug Hogan and they won't give a shit about him saying something about blacks.

Yeah, it's pretty much a given that Hulkster's kinda limited in what he can do in terms of a wrestling organization:

TNA can't even pay some of it's talent, so I'm sure they can't pay Hogan what he'd want (and I don't think they'd want him back even if they could)
He isn't a fit for ROH's current model, as dcisp pointed out
Global Force Wrestling? Well, if they're partners with TNA, I'm sure they probably wouldn't want to introduce Hogan
The Mexican feds (AAA, CMLL, Lucha Underground) won't know what the hell to do with him.

At this point, Hulkster pretty much has three options:
a) Go to Japan, though I think with his age, and the fact the Japanese feds probably wouldn't know what to do with him, despite how much they like him, that's a longshot.
b) Lay low for several months, then try and speak to WWE again and see if they'll work with him (It's happened before, look at Finlay. WWE shitcanned him, but hired him back down the road).
c) Travel around and do some indy show appearances in order to make some money and try and repair his image (.....Yeah, can't quite see Hulkster wanting to go there....)

If those above three scenarios don't work in Hulkster's mind, then I think that would pretty much be it for him in terms of wrestling.

Bullshit everybody knows it was Kevin Sullivan.

I can't remember who it was off-hand, but some wrestling fan actually came up with his ultra elaborate theory that he claimed proved that Kevin Sullivan was the person who killed the Benoit family.

Depending upon who you ask, he was either a spergy wrestling fan, or was taking marks on a ruse cruise.

So is this going to become a trend? Destroying people's careers because of what they said eons ago?

Sickening. I'm positive that we (yes, even you white SJWs that act like you're "down" with the "struggle") all have said things in private that are offensive, maybe even borderline racist/whatever would offend a certain group. Especially older folk. Let's not pretend that everyone is PC 24/7. I can't be the only one who knows people who in public are saints, but once they go home or are comfortable, say some of the most offensive things about people. Is it right? No, but if you're in the privacy of your home, it doesn't warrant losing everything. It's human nature.

It's possible that damage to the brain caused by concussions played a part alongside steroid use (Which were found in his house) but anyway WWE being a traded brand probally cares most about how these things will affect its stock value and acts accordingly.
Chris Benoit carried his attack out over the course of days while maintaining lucid communication with his friends. He even used his own finishing maneuver to strangle his son to death. Not to mention it was his decision to both use drugs and take repeated stiff shots to his head. Boxer's dementia has been known about since the late 20s.

Much as I disagree with WWE doing this solely out of Hogan getting caught rather than actual disgust: There's nothing wrong with not wanting to associate yourself with unrepentant terrible people.

Really, the world would be a better place if people had the principle to do this when actually motivated by disgust and not trends in the press. The Chris Browns and Terry Richardsons of the world have it coming in ways that have absolutely nothing to do with whatever hot-button Gawker Media wants to press at the moment.

Hell, he's not even history. WWE wiped him clear off the website, and quick.

Given their well documented financial issues losing about $900 mill in value they probably just believe they can't afford another scandal.

What's worse? A racist, riod-raging, irrelevant asshole, or a bunch of vindictive 20-somethings who do this to people who both deserve it and people who don't? Hard to say.

He'll be back on wwe tv in a few months. It's the exact same thing they did to Ric Flair over that video game panel. It's all just a pr stunt so that wwe doesn't lose face if the scandal gets any worse. Once it's determined that no one really gave a shit, Hogan will make a public statement saying that he did some soul searching or found god or some shit and then will be back on tv hobbling around like the old demented senior citizen he is; advertising the wwe network in no time.

JR's still gone.

Well Vince never really liked J.R. that much and I'm pretty sure in his old age J.R. isn't really knocking on the door begging to come back either.

But I mean as long as there's money for Vince to make, he'll bring Hogan back. The Ultimate Warrior said multiple times that he hated gay and black people and was once recorded on video screaming at an indian man for "not wearing a towel" so I have no doubt that Hogan will be back fairly soon.

So it's totally cool to ignore Hogan's racism in a topic about Hogan's racism because of this site's bias against Gawker. You want to bitch about them, fair enough. There's another thread for that where that's more than welcome. This is about Hogan being a racist though and to see it devolve into a "FUCK GAWKER" from the typical "grrr liberulz" crew is just poor form. Over something they supposedly did. An accusation that has suspicion but no actual proof. Unlike Hogan's racism which is clearly out there..
The thing is, the fact Hulk Hogan is racist is not at all surprising. He's a 62 year old man who grew up in, IIRC, the southern states of America when casual racism was still pretty common. He also made a career in wrestling, which isn't exactly the most progressive/socially conscious form of entertainment (look at fuckin' Kamala for christ's sake), and is growing increasingly irrelevant beyond as a camp icon.

But the idea that what amounts to a group of sleezeballs that're even more scummy than tabloids trying to drag him down with them? That's completely believable and within lines of Gawker's usual bullshit. It's not even a 'grrr liberulz' thing.
