Hypnohub is an image booru that's been around since 2013, and houses a lot of hypnosis-themed content from all over the web. Most of it is reposted from DeviantArt, Tumblr, Hentai Foundry, and Pixiv, with the occasional artist uploading their art directly to the site. The fetish can result in some weird content being made, though isn't all that surprising. Instead of solely ridiculing or gawking at the fetish and artwork alone, this thread is intended to highlight some of the public behavior that can be found on the website.

Hypnosis is pretty self-explanatory. Stuff like spiral or coloured eyes, swinging-coins, and gals or guys getting sleepy is your typical recipe for one of these fetish pics.


Contrary to that, a lot of other bizarre fetishes get posted to the booru:

It's kind of hard to say what is and isn't allowed there.

Also, if you remember that creepy snake Kaa from Disney's The Jungle Book (1967), or Hypno from the Pokémon games, there's a lot of content of them both featured there.


There are some fairly talented artists and artwork featured on the site, though like DA, they typically make up the <1%.

What Are "Manips?"
"Manip", short for photo manipulation, is a term used to describe edited images. For anyone who has no money to commission artists nor any artistic skills, as long as you have a decent photoshopping program, you can create your very own manip:

1. Find a decent image floating around the internet. Usually typing "Anime girl" on Google Images is a good place to start.

2. Photoshop over her eyes completely out-of-place spirals, or color her eyes a different color.

3. If that isn't enough for you, add some text onto it, either within the image, or on the side of it. Make sure the text really captures the hotness going down.

Manips are commonly found on the website as an easy way for people to make their own fetish content. For artists who post SFW content that's completely unrelated to any fetishes, there's a good chance that somebody saw their work and turned it into wank material.

Quality Control Center (QCC)
The only thing that slightly sets the website apart from DA is that it has bare-minimum standards for quality. If the post is seen as below quality standards, anyone can flag it for manual review, where several mods then go on to approve or delete it from the website.

"This Latest Franchise Just Depicted My Fetish!"
Whenever a movie or video game is confirmed to show hypnosis, mind control, or something along those lines, a bunch of people in the community get very excited about it.

The recent Incredibles 2 film, for example, had some people getting all giddy over the villain using a mind control device on Mrs. Incredible. One guy named Allister autistically complained about how this kids film wasn't good enough for him and his fetish:

The site is sometimes treated as a bit of a safe-space by all sorts of individuals. Some of them are very left-leaning and hate Trump, while others are more anti-PC and hate "SJWs."



Once in a blue-moon, somebody posts an image relating to politics, and the comments devolve into bitterness and hurt feelings:

For whatever reason, people argue and ramble in the comments over a pornographic image going against the original franchises's canon. This isn't exclusive to the website, yet it does occasionally pop up more often than expected.

Anonymously Flagging Posts
The system on the booru allows anyone to anonymously flag a post for manual review, with the user giving a reason for why the post should be reviewed for removal. Sometimes, users get very butt-hurt whenever a user flags a post, as they believe the image will be removed no matter what. Mods can remove flags and keep the posts up without any issue, yet some users even go so far as to assume that a user flagging a post must be a troll:


Some posts get flagged for "Jpeg artifacting on a png image", which later get replaced with a higher resolution version. This doesn't stop users from assuming that this is being done by trolls, and wishing that they could do away with the anonymity, presumably to harass whoever flags an image they like:

As brought up earlier in the "Quality Control Center (QCC)," there's a bit of confusion as for what kind of content is allowed to be posted to the site. Some content may or may not fit within the fetish, while other content like original artwork and manips may be seen as bad quality content. This ultimately leads to arguments over mods being unfair, or the belief that those damn trolls are plaguing the booru with unjust flags.
