I had testicle surgery today. - Yep.

Last Friday I discovered a smallish lump on my right testicle during a shower. Naturally I was very concerned and I told my mom, who has connections at IU Health here in Indianapolis. I received an ultrasound on Monday and my urologist immediately scheduled me for a radical orchiectomy of my right testicle. It was highly likely that the mass was cancer.

Today I had my surgery. When I regained consciousness in post-op, the nurse told me I had received a partial orchiectomy. Naturally, I was confused. The surgeon had performed a simple tissue analysis of the tumor right there in the OR and immediately recognized that it was benign. When he found out, he rushed out of the OR with an enormous grin. It's not everyday that a surgeon who specializes in testicle cancer gets to tell a family that it is not actually cancer.

Needless to say, I feel like I have won the lottery. I'm writing this post up from the couch at home using my phone since my computer is upstairs. I know I'm not the most popular member on this site but I just felt that I needed to share this with all of you. I feel like a new man, especially considering I was fully expecting to leave that hospital with one ball. I'm not sure what else to add so...thank you :)

And to all the guys on here, CHECK YOUR BOYS. It can save your life. For real.
