Even if does end up going jail, it's not going to be immediate. Think how long its taken Chris to even go to court. Jace will be around at least a handful of months.

Its going to depend on what happens to him in relation to his mother. If she demands he returns home after this incident, after everything she might pull the plug on his internet again. Mind you, he's subverted that before when its happened, it just depends on how thorough Gail chooses to be (which might end up being more so than previous times, since he total'd her car trying to meet a transsexual, you know how she feels about the homos and jorts and such.) If he's arrested on his probation, he's pretty much going straight to jail. He might also be arrested and not given bail (unlikely scenario).

If his mother doesn't press charges and he's allowed to go back to Eli's Cottage, we will probably see him online again (provided he doesn't stay dark as part of Operation Wu-pocalypse, or to hide from the Obama spy drones or whatever.

If she doesn't file a criminal complaint isn't she putting herself in legal danger for "letting" an unlicensed uninsured schizophrenic "borrow" her car? I'm not saying that she'll face jail time, but someone is going to have to take the blame for this one.
Nah, a friend stole my car to buy drugs, and when he got a DUI I told the police called me and asked if I wanted to press charges. I actually told them "If you find drugs in there then yes, otherwise probably not" and it pretty much turned out just fine for me.
edit- if she wants insurance money she will most likely be forced to press charges

If the people discovering Jace through this incident find their way here, I can't imagine what they'll think. These are people who are treating GG as something hugely important; they think they're on the verge of a breakthrough with this Jace guy, only to discover... a bunch of people hanging out and discussing it like it's the most normal thing in the world.

It'd be like a Roswell conspiracy theorist walking into a bar where humans and aliens are just hanging out and politely chatting.

All I did was tell the truth.
I think that's the best thing you could have done. The author is gonna do what he wants, but if his goal was to write a smear piece, telling the truth—that Jace is 1) confirmed harmless and 2) probably trying to get attention—is going to at least get him to think twice.

And if his goal is to write a balanced, intelligent news article, the truth would be used to fill in the gaps, or provide another perspective. And that's never a harmful thing in good journalism.

The worst I see happening is that he ignores what was said and writes whatever he wants anyway. And I don't think that's such a negative outcome.
