well shit, lads. looks like on top of all the current disaster facing the northern political hemisphere, the plague of locusts over the middle east and china currently on the verge of nuking itself with engineered T-virus after engineered T-virus, the ice caps are rapidly expanding.
Remember, there's a pole shift coming up as well, and the last time that happened around 16,000 or so years ago, Atlantis sunk underneath the ocean.

God's pissed.

Money goes to that Japan sinks. The Atlantis of the East....
actually, on that topic...

F for the land of the rising sun, I guess it really is about to set after all :(

Tangentially related to the coming apoclaypse; while we're on the subject of Japan, the Bifröst also opened above Japan a few weeks ago:

Probably gonna pull an "ACKTUALLY" moment but Shinto also has a rainbow bridge to heaven. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takamagahara

Perhaps a new coming of Shinto Kami? Or did Izanagi find a new wife and now they're going to recreate Japan again?

I mentioned the Bifröst more because of the allusions to ragnarök, which given everything else that's happened recently seems more like an inevitable conclusion than anything else.

Of course, that's simply the Norse prophecy of the end times, we also have literally every other prophecy to consider on this subject as well.

Speaking of "ACKTUALLY", the pole reversal is only magnetic, the Earth doesn't literally flip its axis.
yeah, as anyone who reads into the subject of pole-shifting should know. The point is what side effects this pole-shift will have, and that's the concerning part, as the last evidence we have in the geological record that a pole-shift took place was around 13-16,000 years ago, and that technically wasn't even a full pole shift, it was a sort of blip, where the poles temporarily shifted, then flipped back on themselves.

This might not seem like much in the long run, but then you examine the mythological records, and nearly every culture on the planet that was capable of recording myths in one way or another all make mention of a great flood taking place at around the time period when this blip happened, with the most specific date being mentioned by the greeks, specifically Plato recounting Solon stating that the cataclysm took place 11,000 years prior to the time in which Hellenic Greece was at it's own peak.

Granted, the timings aren't all laser focussed, but you can't expect that when examining myths. However, you can expect some level of accuracy that's worth considering. A good example of this is the legend of Utnapishtim (Noah) of Babylonian heritage, and the exact measurements bestowed up him by the god Enkidu for the creation of the Ark. If you're interested in that subject, here's a video you can watch on that exact topic

TL;DR - get mythpilled before it's too late.

I have children, who I love very much... But goddamn if 2020 doesn't make me occasionally wish that I just busted those nuts on my wife's face instead. This shit isn't going to end well for them.

I think the coming magnetic pole reversal, whether or not it happens in my lifetime, will be a big deal and could potentially kill tens of millions of people but mostly because of the vulnerability of the power grid without the magnetic shield protecting it from solar flares. Otherwise it's happened before thousands of times and even a few dozen times in the history of humanity as a species and life went on.

It's not really a matter of survival... humans will figure out a way to survive... it will be humans and cockroaches when the final chips are cashed in... but that's not really the point.

Do you really want to be around when that shit does down and modern society as we know it completely fails? It's not an issue of species extinction, it's an issue of societal extinction.

yeah, some of humanity will outlive the disaster, that's almost guaranteed. The real question is who, and how many? as for the effects of the poles crossing each other, it's a bit more grim than just simply losing the protective field and having the planet being bombarded by cosmic rays; what actually happens is one side gets much stronger, and then the reverse side loses almost all of its protection. as the poles are going to cross over the west coast of the United States, that essentially puts the entire of western Eurasia and all of Africa in the danger zone, at least if we're talking from a purely radiation based argument. There's also the fact that in the area where the magnetic field is at it's strongest, cloud cover is going to become extremely large and extremely dense. That means bigger storms, less sun, and less room for crops to grow, so mass damage to infrastructure along with a mass food shortage.

The big thing right now is that no-one actually knows if the pole-shift will be another blip, or a complete shift, and as a result of that, how long any of these subsequent effects will actually last.

I don't know what version of Gilgamesh you read, but Enkidu was not a god.
In fact, he was less civilized than Gilgamesh, the text presents him as a wildman having sex with animals, drinking water and eating fruit until Shamhat teaches him the missionary position, about bread and beer and reading. The products of civilization.
Have you read the epic of Gilgamesh, or just watched YouTube videos?
