If I was her I would be panicking. She has thin fucking hair too, but I swear it wasn't this thin before. She's needs to go to the doctor and get a blood test.

She may have a thyroid problem, which is associated with thinning hair, like a hormonal imbalance. Wouldn't be too surprising, gaining weight and the stressful "career change".

Personal experience: I thought I always had shitty ratty thin hair, turned out I had Hashimotos Disease (slow thyroid), several years on my hair is thick as shit. Also protein treatments, but she looks like she collects crust behind her ears, so self care is probably a foreign concept.
