I've said this for a year, but I WISH Trump came out at the beginning and told everyone to wear masks and how important they were because I guarantee the left would be screaming about how bad masks are.
I've seen people flat out say that they will continue to wear masks to show that they aren't Republican. Masks are the left's version of MAGA hats.
But if we're talking about him supporting masks as protection against covid19, three years ago. Why would need know about a virus that wasn't around? (Or at least not outside of a bio research building in Wuhan.)
His iconic facial hair was popular during WW1 because it allowed men to keep their facial hair during the war. Toothbrush staches don't break the seal of masks.
I never knew him personally, but Hitler never struck me as being particularly liberal, or anti-authoritarian. He seemed to rather like the idea of government being able to tell people what articles of clothing they're suppose to wear.
Now mind you, I do suspect that maybe he wasn't so much pro-government or for government micromanaging peoples lives, as much as he was pro using government to enact his personal agenda on society.
No way. Since he admired nature so much, while encouraging his people to be as fit and healthy as possible. Also his scientists would discover better testing methods, or atleast wouldn't put so much faith in something giving as many false positives as the PCR test.
Unironically yes. The Nazis were famously obsessed with cleanliness and hygiene, and of course, had no concern for individual freedom, nor any compunctions whatsoever about using the state's monopoly on violence to coerce citizens into doing whatever the regime wanted.
Not only would masks be mandatory, but so would vaccines, curfews, and armed guards enforcing social distancing at every corner. They'd close all their borders, throw any "hygiene risk" groups into camps, and even force your grandma to snort PCP for good measure.
Would Hitler be in power? I imagine he wouldn't have an opinion otherwise, he would be speaking more about the death of the German spirit beneath the decadency and meaninglessness of Reichstag parliamentarianism and the commodification of all social emotions of love and camaraderie which led to this state somehow.
If he was given power three years ago, he would give a grand speech about how the death of the European Union was necessary to preserve the nature of the Deutsche Volk. How Germany once again has become a decent nation, energetic and hardworking again, how in the last three years we have proven to the other nations that we have nothing to be ashamed of before them. On and on. but I suspect he wouldn't be for masks as it looks weak. Germans are Aryans and Aryans survive such lowly diseases.
I suspect everyone would instead be on 120 mg of Ivermectin, taken orally once a week, probably at their work/school or by the family at the breakfast table. Maybe it would work, maybe it would poison people as bad as the Meth he thought was so hot the last time? Drugs, not masks. Deep down, deep in your gut, we all know this to be true. He would want to try the drugs.
"We are building today the nicest streets, powerful nuclear plants to save our environment, we have invented tremendous things. Everywhere new things are being created in all sectors. And I ask you, German people, for your additional help in this. The almighty has never helped a lazy man. He does not help the coward. He does not help a people that cannot help themselves Here the same principle applies—take your pill on Sundays and become a united community of sacrifice and trust, your Opa needs you, your neighbors need you, and your family and your folk depend on you and your loyalty. Deutsches Folk, help yourselves and the almighty cannot deny you his assistance"
The ethno nationalist has this tendency to keep the race intact. In doing this, they go overboard sometimes.. I see it here with the far right as well. They freaked out and are still freaking out about covid. Protect our people first!
That's all fine and dandy but I prefer personal choice above anything.
