If I am to record Jace's streams, I need to know how to convert the video file. -

Another quick question thread. If you have heard about the Kingof/pol/ drama that's about to hit the critical point this weekend, he is going to interview Jace on a stream.

Since this is so significant, I want to try recording this stream with Shadowplay (did it with another stream a few days ago, it works like a charm). But the files for medium quality are 3.3gb per 20 minutes.

I need some good conversion software that can reduce this without making the video unwatchable.

Can you guys recommend me some good software I can use to achieve this? If I am to get the DN War Library to have it?

Don't even bother. Just go render it all in one go and upload it, there's no getting around the size.

x264 would be great. If you really wanted your encodes to be very great, you could use cf=16, but cf=19 should work fine.

Here's a great x264 command line that should be great for archival use and still give have good files sizes (not too big or small):
"--deblock -2:-2 --bframes 6 --b-adapt 2 --ref 6 --rc-lookahead 50 --aq-strength 0.8 --merange 24 --direct auto --subme 9 --trellis 2"

And if you really wanted to get the best conpressablilty in your files, making a simple Avisynth script with a few filters to remove non-visible noise will help, along with deblocking.
