Preamble (if you don't have the attention for it, skip this)
I've been on clubhouse, which is a voice app with various rooms. Anyone can start one, anyone can join one, and room leaders can allow anyone to speak.
A few months ago, you'd find random rooms with some very smart people. Then they made an effort to give diversity invites, and now the app is about 90% black. You'll see rooms titled 'How We Can Create a Black Agenda' or '[something something] Black women'. They are now sometimes kicking people from rooms for being white. Eric Weinstein recently talked about this phenomenon and it devolved into black people saying 'whiteness' deserves to be banned from rooms because it represents fear to black people, haha.
Twitter is now about to roll about a Clubhouse competitor, and while it's in beta it will 'only be available to users who are women or of marginalized backgrounds'.
The internet is shit, and fast becoming shittier. We all know this. We need some push in a better direction.
Anyway.
Clubhouse's format of Voice-only rooms that anyone can join is fun and conducive to interesting conversation. Can't be that hard to make, and I'd be happy to help.
Are you interested, @Null ?
