I have some friends in the field, if you are off the boat/bus etc "unskilled" you need to be strong, my one friend is early 20s and just left the USMC and says it tires him out. To be fair he jumps on OT to rack cash in and is almost paid off his starter home. But OT is mandatory in that line.

From what he has said, really everyone keeps to themselves or just brags about how they blew a paycheck on a bigger truck that the idiot who just bought a big truck. So I don't think LGBT issue would ever pop up, and depending on the exact job they often carpool or get travel.

To my first point, if you have some income, you may need to bite down to some pretty shitty conditions or be in a less than happy area but to be homeless with a income that's stable is pretty much a choice in the US. I live near a big expensive city and 2 mins I can find room shares bills included for 400, it ain't a nice place but it's a roof over your heard.

400 is not a lot of money to be frank in this area, if you learn an area you can live in the burbs car free. I have a hard time buying this person isn't a wreck if they some how are getting money and can't get a roof over there head, something else is, up like trashed credit, hiding from law, or just an all around fuck up.

Yeah, but you can sustenance hunt/fish in Alaska outside of most cities. You also get an oil check after a year of residence. The cost of living is high though and of course the weather.

I would tell them Florida...everybody else goes there.

I understand to a limited extent if maybe you are living in your car in the dead of winter. I'd imagine you'd be burning gas constantly to keep warm or even springing for a hotel room on multiple occasions that will eat into whatever you're saving. But that's the only half reasonable scenario I can think of other than irresponsibility.
