I'm finally getting my own bass guitar. -

Local guitar shop had a number of new Rickenbacker 4003 basses in with more on the way. I got to play a Jetglow (black) model on an Ampeg SVT reissue tube amp and fell madly in love. The Ric 4003 has always been my favorite bass guitar and I've been dreaming of getting one for some time. I asked them what their lay away policy was and they said I could put down however much I was comfortable with and as long as I put SOMETHING towards it every month I would have a full year to pay it off. I put $25 dollars down on it and will be putting several hundred more down this week. They didn't have the color I wanted, Midnight Blue, but had it on order and should be there within three months. So I'm finally getting my dream bass.

Well the bass had to be put on the back burner. My boss told me he wants me to get my armed security license so I had to take the money I had on the Ric and buy a new Beretta M9A1. BUT, I WILL be getting the bass...eventually. I think though I'll be getting a Fender Jaguar first and get the Ric a little later.

OK. Going back to the shop to put another Ric on lay away. Rickenbacker just came out with a wood finished model, the 4003W this year and I'm gonna get that. Oh Yes, I will.

Very nice. My dream bass is a Warwick but the Ricks have that nice classic look.

Currently have a Schecter Stiletto Custom-5 in natural finish (mahogany body, maple top) as my favorite and the only one I ever really pick up (though that very rarely) and some Yamaha 4-string with just a mahogany body.
