Hi all.
For the time being, I can't give much in the way of specifics, like my identity or what website it's for (though of course the article will have my name on it), but I'm a freelance writer for a living and I've pitched a major website on doing a well-rounded, "take the subject on from all angles" article about Chris-chan and the entire troll subculture built around him.
They've basically said yes and given a rate, but we just need to iron out the specifics of the article itself (and I need to finish an unrelated article I'm on deadline for). Since the editor mentioned how it would really put the article over the top if I can talk to Chris and/or his trolls (which I planned on anyway), I figure I'd get a head start by posting this.
So, what am I looking to do here?
* I'd like guidance on the most effective ways to reach Chris (I know he has the Twitter and Facebook accounts, but since he seems to be more wary of trolls lately I'm not sure if I should just Facebook message him or what?) as well as his mom and any other "real world" people (for lack of a better term) that can shed some light. Is there any way someone like Megan Schroeder would be willing to talk with the understanding it wasn't a hit piece?
* I'm looking for ways to contact the most (in)famous of the trolls like Clyde Cash, BILLY MAYS, and so on.
* Obviously Chris and the big name trolls are the big fish I'm after in terms of what I'd like to do with the article, but I'd like to hear from EVERYONE who can add ANYTHING, so feel free to give suggestions or whatever.
Obviously if we talked on the phone/Skype/Google Hangouts/etc, you had to use your personal email, etc. I'd keep you either completely anonymous or refer to you by your nickname in the CWC realm depending on your preference. The email I've set up is kayfabian@yandex.com if you want to reach me, but I'll also be hanging out around here in general as well as regularly checking this thread.
I'm sure I'll have a lot more to say, but I wanted to get the ball rolling.
Thanks everybody!
