My dachshund Rocky has to be put to sleep. He's not eating or drinking. His health has gone downhill fast. He's old and It's time to say goodbye. He had a good life and was as loyal as anyone could hope for.
Sorry to hear about your loss. As someone who has also recently lost a pet, I was able to find a lot of solace in the fact that my dog did have a happy and amazing full life as well.
I think he'd be really grateful you're helping him out of his pain. It's never easy and it's always sad, but what you're doing is selfless and I'm sure he appreciates that you cared for him so much over the years.
I am sorry to hear that, pets can be some of the most loyal friends that a person can have. Well, if you loved him, you can be sure that he loved you more.
That sucks to hear. Well, at least he can freely decide, like, you know, that this is your opnion man, in doggy heaven.
Seriously, though, it seems that Rocky had a long and happy life with you. I think that is what matters, to always remember the happy memories you had with him.
You've done everything you could, and now there's nothing more than can be done. Your last act of kindness will be letting him leave this world without undue pain and anguish, secure in knowing that he was your friend. When life takes away all options, sometimes all we have is the love we can share... and your friend had your love until his very last breath. That was all he ever wanted, and I'm sure he left in peace.
