I remember when I was a kid renting this from Blockbuster when it was first released on VHS. It looks good and I'm definitely going to be seeing it when it comes out. I loved the original movie and need to re-watch it before this comes out.

I liked Independence Day (legitimately, too), so I'm not too confident this will live up to the original - as nice as it would be to see. I know it's gonna get bashed (regardless) for not having Will Smith around, but oh well.

Apparently that wasn't in the script, he just ad-libbed that. Filming was being done by the Great Salt Lake and he was smelling the bodies of decomposing brine shrimp.
