I've seen a lot of ultra fat fanart. Until it was possible to hide high view and favorite fanart of the day on deviantArt, I would literally see them at least once a day just by logging onto the site, indicating it to be a popular (or at least vocal) fetish. Matter of fact I don't do searches on that site often anymore since at once time I was getting extreme fat fetish results all over the place.

I knew a fat fetish man on a message board once. He derailed many a topic by talking about fat characters. I've pretty sure he got in trouble with the mods and admins for it, too, since it happened a lot.

EXACTLY. I used to be plus size (about 14) but I've since dropped down to nearly a 8. Even when i was a size 14, I didn't notice any real issues that came from. I was able to use seatbelts, fit comfortably into chairs, find clothes at various clothing stores, etc etc. Personally, I don't consider 14-16 to be plus size, just because the modeling industry considers a size 2-4 to be 'normal' when most people would call that skinny. For me, I consider sizes 2-8 to be thin (not necessarily skinny, especially if you're short and petite) 10-18 to be average (on a tall woman, a size 16-18 would look rather normal and proportionate) and 20+ to be plus size. If people want to bitch about the standards the modeling/fashion industry sets, I am right with them.

But if you're seriously unable to use a seatbelt without an extender, the problem is definitely on YOU, not the automotive industry. It just pisses me off when people get so overweight they literally waddle or need mobility scooters, and they don't think there's anything wrong with it. You have obese people claiming that all the studies and research showing how obesity is detrimental to health are flawed and created by skinny people who want to fat-shame people. But then you have smokers who claim the same about research about secondhand smoke (seriously) and that this research is just to shame smokers. It never ceases to amaze me how deluded some people can be, but then, look at Chris, he is an living example - nay, monument - to how powerful self-delusion can become.

I don't encourage making fun of fat people and being cruel to them because this doesn't help them or us, but nor will I give any support to the Fat Acceptance Movement. The FAM is nothing but a crock of bullshit.

There are some TV shows I love, and I watch clubs associated with these shows on DA, so whenever new stuff is submitted to these clubs, it shows up in my messages. Unfortunately, this also includes fat/inflation art, and it makes me want to scream when one of these abominations show up in my messages.
