This is a direct quote from "Catie", just some background info that she asked me to share publically.

Is there an active thread where you can point out that the 9 July "start" of the relationship was actually the date of the first message I sent Chris? Because that's what he seriously thought in retrospect, that I was his sweetheart right after I contacted him. The kicker is, he didn't send a reply message for about THREE SOLID WEEKS. Seriously. Yet somehow I was his girlfriend those three weeks of having zero contact with him.

It still creeps me out how Chris can just attach himself to a girl and start acting like they're in a serious relationship right the hell out of nowhere, regardless of how the girl feels about things.

Chris literally doesn't grasp other people having their own thoughts. Ironically, that's what makes it so hard to get into Chris's mind - his thought processes are so abnormal that while we can predict his behavior, it's very very hard to get to grips with his rationale.

Not really. His rationale always boils down to:

1: I am always right.
2: I deserve anything I want and I deserve it immediately.
3: Anyone who stands in the way of my desires or displeases me in any way is no less than a purely evil troll.

As others have pointed out, Chris already has the girlfriend's life (make Crystal, go shopping) and personality (spunky, true and honest) worked out in his head, he's just looking for someone he can assign the role to. Chris's autism prevents him from understanding how the girl might feel about being his girlfriend and his stupidity/ego prevents him from realizing this, assuming instead that the girl is fine about the whole thing because it's TRUE LOVE. Chris is in love with a caricature of what a girlfriend can be; a caricature derived mainly from children's cartoons and porn. He attaches himself so readily to these girls because he sees their relationship as the grandiose romance he's worked out in his head, and he largely ignores how the girls feel because he assumes they're just as intensely, magically in love with him as he is with them.

It's sort of the same process we saw with him talking to Colin. He created this character for Colin based on what little information Renee gave him. To Chris, Colin is this pampered rich boy trying to steal his girlfriend away with his city-boy charms. When Chris heard that Colin was wealthy, a personality encompassing every cliché about a rich person crystallized in Chris's mind. He never really got to know Colin because he's more comfortable dealing in clichés and fantasy than he is dealing with reality.

TL;DR Merry Christmas!

I have been in a couple relationships where anniversary dates have to be figured out in retrospect. We didn't exactly go from not knowing each other to dating in a single step, so we sort of manufactured a date. I think that is fairly common. One of those was a girl I "met" when she messaged me on OKCupid. One year from the day she did that, I printed out her message and gave it to her as a gift. She seemed to find that nice (although that was obviously not the date we chose for our anniversary, and I had messaged her back within a day or so).

So I can kind of see where Chris is coming from. Or at least, the starting point he was working with before he started mangling it with weird logic. To me the dumbest part is not messaging back for three weeks and counting that. If they had started messaging regularly right away and that messaging had directly evolved into a relationship, I think there would be some validity to attaching importance to the day that messaging started.

It certainly doesn't help Chris pretty much assumes the moment a girl becomes his sweetheart (which he alone can decide upon if he wants to), that she's just going to "fall into place" and fill the role given to her by godbear.

It must be baffling to Chris that women in general just refuse to play their part in the future that was basically PROMISED by godbear.

I think the important part in Caties post is "in retrospect". Just after some time he realized that Catie is the manifestation of divine will and will give birth to his daughter. I believe that Chris didn't think "Gee, she wrote me, that means we're a couple now", he only understood later that she's THE ONE, meant to be his sweetheart from birth. That's when he answered. Never mind that that's happening every time he meets a girl.
