Inktober 2019 Zebra.jpg

First time using dip pens in ages, I didn’t realize that new nibs are usually treated with oils to help them stay in good shape during storage so I was struggling at first. Cleaned off all my new nibs and now things are going much better. I also never really learned to use dip pens properly, my introduction to them was by a high school art teacher who I really liked and thought was great, but it's hard to teach a bunch of dumbass teenagers how to do things like this.

The next two are just Microns and sharpie.

Another example of me using 80% non ink materials for Inktober. Whoops!

Inktober Day 12.jpg

Ran a half marathon yesterday and didn't have a lot of energy left in me to make art. A lot of runners find that mile 9 is where they hit the proverbial "wall" and they're starting to crash before their second wind picks them back up for the last few miles. I didn't feel like I hit the wall this time, hence this cheetah's mile marker.

Not actually correct opossum handling procedure ( you hold them by the base of the tail with another hand on their tummy) but this guy was being wiggly and didn't want to be weighed.

This last one was drawn at a nearby park next to some grazing lands. My challenge this day was to go out and draw and animal on-site. She took a huge dump while I was drawing so I guess that's what she thought of my likeness.

Phoenix Ink Web.jpg

And of course, Phoenix, whose hair was pretty hard to ink....

That spells the end of my X-men themed ink i guess... for now...

I know it's not Inktober yet, but I wonder why nobody has talked about the scummy things the guy who invented Inktober did...
